This is actually a superb idea that Elon Musk should institute right away!
The world’s richest man Elon Musk has suggested that Twitter start charging government and commercial users a “slight” fee to use the social media platform.
This means every politician, world leader, corporation, CEO, etc would be charged a nominal fee for peddling their wares on Musk’s new Twitter platform.
Since Twitter’s board of directors accepted the Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s offer to purchase the social media platform for $44 billion on April 25, Musk has touted changes including open algorithms, the elimination of bots and trolls, and the elimination of censorship.
In a cryptic message Tuesday afternoon, Musk tweeted that “the downfall of the Freemasons was giving away their stonecutting services for nothing.”
Twitter will always be free for casual users, but maybe a slight cost for commercial/government users

Like Trump, Elon is truly brilliant in his use of short-form messages to arouse national interest — even if the messages are hints at what’s to come.
A few hours later, he added context, suggesting an unprecedented pay-to-use format for government and commercial users.
Such a policy would be a first among major social media platforms.
Musk has also suggested changes to Twitter’s subscription service, Twitter Blue.
“Everyone who signs up for Twitter Blue (ie pays $3/month) should get an authentication checkmark,” he tweeted, but he deleted it shortly afterward.
Musk attended the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night where he told reporters of some major changes he plans to institute at Twitter, including the banning of bot armies.

Twitter’s new direction under Musk’s leadership is still greatly unknown, although the Tesla CEO has dropped major hints at what’s to come.
Still, many conservative accounts have noticed significant increases in their followings and some banned accounts have even found themselves reinstated. Beyond that, many Twitter users are noticing what they call a major “energy shift” in the way they experience social media.
To describe it would be difficult as it’s intangible, but it’s best described by a feeling that something major is about to happen. That the overwhelming stronghold on the national conversation by one political party is slowly but surely coming to end.
