Much like John Kerry, who pumped over 300 tons of CO2 into the air in the last year and a half, progressive actors rarely walk their own talk.
Some of the biggest advocates for environmentalism and climate alarmism in Hollywood refuse to do the very things they demand of us. They advocate for less energy consumption. They want to get rid of single-family housing in most parts of the country. And they demand we make changes to our lifestyles that would send us back into the Dark Ages.
But will they give up their multi-million dollar homes? Will they use less energy to power their private jets and fleets of cars? Will they lift a finger to make any personal changes to “save” the planet?
You know the answer to that. And so does the President of Brazil, who blasted Hollywood’s biggest fake.
After actor Leonardo DiCaprio once again ranted about environmental issues in Brazil, Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro again took him to the woodshed.
DiCaprio, whose hypocrisy regarding his environmentalism has been slammed by Bolsonaro before, hyperventilated, “How extensive is deforestation in Amazonia, one of the most important places on the planet for people & wildlife? According to this map from @mapbiomas, the region has faced an onslaught of illegal deforestation at the hands of extractive industry over the last 3 years.”
“You again, Leo?” Bolsonaro mocked. “This way, you will become my best electoral cable, as we say in Brazil! I could tell you, again, to give up your yacht before lecturing the world, but I know progressives: you want to change the entire world but never yourselves, so I will let you off the hook.” [Source: Daily Wire]
Wow. Bolsonaro hit the nail right on the head. He rebuked DiCaprio for constantly lecturing regular folks, but doing nothing himself. The president pointed out that DiCaprio, like many wealthy actors, owns his own yacht. Expensive boats like his use up plenty of energy—and release CO2 into the air.
Bolsonaro blasted the actor, saying he wants “to change the entire world but never” himself. Much like all progressives.
How often have we seen that? Progressive activists accuse conservatives of being hateful bigots who put people in danger. Yet who is always rioting, destroying private property, harassing judges, and even inflicting violence on civilians?
It ain’t Republicans, I’m telling you right now.
So is the same for the environmental crowd. Progressives in D.C. applaud the staggeringly high gas prices. But they get to enjoy private cars, flights, and transportation, care of the taxpayer.
I don’t think if they were pulling down $50,000 a year they’d be happy about the gas crisis.
Can DiCaprio really complain about the rain forest, when he lives in a giant home and floats around on a yacht? Is environmentalism really about saving the earth, or the ruling elite pushing an agenda that gives them all the money and power?
