The Latest Jobs Report Proves Deporting Illegals and Enforcing Immigration Laws is Good for Americans, the Economy

The latest jobs report revealed that employers added 130,000 new jobs in January and brought the unemployment rate down another notch.  And the average American’s paycheck has increased by 2%, outpacing inflation by about $1,200. These improvements are no accident. They are a sign that President Trump’s policies are working and the country is rising out of its depression it fell into over the last five years.

What policies from the Trump administration are responsible for these gains? Much to the dismay of Democrats, Trump’s immigration policies are the root cause of all of this. Enforcing immigration law, deporting illegals and securing the border have had a massive effect on not just lowered crime rates and the economy, but also the job market. It turns out when you deport illegal immigrants, employers are forced to hire Americans. Wow! What a concept!

Political analyst Batya Ungar-Sargon pointed out by deporting 500,000 illegal migrants, with an additional 2 million leaving voluntarily, companies have been compelled to hire American workers. This is a significant shift from the past when both parties allowed labor market distortions by outsourcing jobs to China and opening the floodgates to illegal immigration.

Ungar-Sargon was quick to criticize past administrations, especially pointing fingers at former President Biden, whose policies she claims turbocharged the problem. During his tenure, border enforcement was neglected, and millions streamed into the country illegally. She questioned the motives behind such policies, suggesting they were driven by a desire to cater to the rich and educated who benefit from cheap labor.

The common narrative from the left, which claims that illegal migrants fill jobs Americans refuse to take, was thoroughly dismantled by Ungar-Sargon. She noted that no industry in America has more than 31% of its workforce made up of illegal labor, debunking the myth that Americans won’t do these jobs. According to her, the real reason Democrats support open borders is to benefit the ownership class, which profits from the exploitation of cheap labor.

Ungar-Sargon didn’t hold back in pointing out the hypocrisy she sees in the Democratic party. She highlighted past statements from Democratic officials who denied that the border was open. Clips of figures like Rep. Ayanna Pressley and former Vice President Kamala Harris claiming the border was secure were a part of her argument that Democrats only changed their tune after President Trump’s 2024 election victory revealed their stance as a political loser.

As the political landscape shifted, Democrats attempted to reposition their message on immigration. Ungar-Sargon noted their evolving rhetoric, from advocating for a secure border to opposing mass deportations. However, as public opinion favored strong enforcement, they again adjusted their stance, suggesting only the worst offenders should be deported—a position Ungar-Sargon sees as insufficient.

She challenged recent criticisms from Democratic officials like California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Sen. Dick Durbin, who lamented the deportation of workers in various low-paying industries. Ungar-Sargon argued that these criticisms further exposed the Democrats’ desire to keep labor costs low by exploiting illegal migrants.

Ungar-Sargon concluded her commentary with a powerful statement on labor costs, asserting that the Democrats’ opposition to deportations stems from a desire to maintain cheap labor. She dismissed the notion that Americans won’t take certain jobs, insisting that these positions once offered dignified wages to millions of working-class Americans before being undercut by illegal labor.

In her final remarks, Ungar-Sargon criticized what she views as a disdain for hard work among the elites, who she claims cannot imagine doing the jobs they deem undesirable. This commentary serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing debate over immigration and labor in America, highlighting the stark differences in how each side approaches these critical issues. For those who value strong borders and the rights of American workers, Ungar-Sargon’s analysis is a rallying cry for continued vigilance and enforcement.
