Trump Needs To Build TWO Walls? New Report Shows Why

Even if the majority of Americans can see that the southern border of the United States is in shambles under President Joe Biden, Illegal aliens have broken records at the border every year under Biden’s administration. While we have justifiably focused on the southern border, the situation on the northern frontier of the United States is deteriorating just as rapidly. It would appear that the U.S. northern border is always an option for determined immigrants in the event that the southern border proves to be too difficult—unbelievable, I know—to enter the United States.

According to the most recent statistics available, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) detained more than 12,200 people in 2023 who attempted to enter the country illegally from Canada. This is an increase from the 3,578 illegal immigrants apprehended along the northern border in 2022. The 295-mile Swanton sector, which encompasses upstate New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont, is a common crossing point where around 70% of illegal immigrants have descended from the north, similar to the southern border. Robert Garcia, the sector’s top agent, notes that border crossings in the south and north are very similar. Lots of other nations’ citizens are trying to cross the southern border and get into the United States. According to Garcia, 3,100 individuals from 55 different nations have entered the country using this path. Border townspeople also report seeing undocumented immigrants hiding in backyards and fields, as well as in structures on private land. The recurrent entry of gang members into the United States is another parallel to the southern border. Ben Kew of RedState recently reported that ICE had apprehended a violent Honduran gang member with six prior deportations. The individual was a member of the 18th Street gang.

If they can’t afford the $350 one-way airline ticket to Montreal or Toronto, many immigrants go to Mexico instead and then cross the northern border. This is because crossing the Darien Gap in Panama is an incredibly perilous ordeal. Many of the entrance points are understaffed due to the southern border’s disproportionate share of immigration attention, despite the fact that the northern U.S. border is longer. The northern border consists mostly of forested regions and dirt trails, while the southern border is the focal point of wall construction.

On the other hand, weather is another major issue during this time of year. A number of undocumented immigrants have perished from hypothermia as temperatures fell. There have been fifteen missions involving the rescue of 37 immigrants since October 2022. According to Sheriff David Favro of Clinton County, New York, immigrants are prone to vertigo in the dark and frigid woods, which increases the risk that they may fall into frozen streams or ponds. While most undocumented migrants entering the country illegally do so through asylum claims, human traffickers have also discovered the northern border to be an easy way to transport their victims.

Another parallel with the southern border is the presence of irritated authorities and politicians. A Democrat from Clinton County, New York, Billy Jones stated, “The northern border has very well been disregarded.” The federal government is “failing on immigration, and they’re failing the people that live along the border,” he said, echoing his southern border colleagues. Rep. Carrie Gendreau (R-NH) is fighting back against a Democratic colleague’s plan to cut money for the Northern Border Alliance in her state. Gendreau made the following statement:

“I can see how someone in Concord or Manchester wouldn’t get what we’re going through until they’ve been up here, walked the woods, and seen the hundreds of acres.”

In a separate statement, Senate Democrats from New Hampshire characterized border problems as “non-existent.” A little farther west in Neche, North Dakota, you’ll find people who live near the northern border, and they might disagree. The Border Patrol recorded 300 apprehensions of illegal immigrants in that region during fiscal year 2023. The U.S. Border Patrol recently detained 19 more individuals, including 15 Romanian families, who had entered the country illegally on February 6, and all of them were attempting to return to Canada.

Even though President Joe Biden has tried to pin the responsibility for the surge in illegal immigration on Republicans at the southern border, it could be Canadian politicians who step in to help. Canadian lawmakers are debating whether or not to impose a visa requirement on Mexican nationals.
