Donald Trump’s refusal to endorse a rigid two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict shows why he’s always been the dealmaker America needs. Unlike the left, which is married to failed ideas and empty slogans, Trump understands that peace isn’t about pandering to outdated policies that have only fueled endless violence. It’s about results.
During his interview with Time magazine, where he was named 2024’s Person of the Year (a no-brainer after his jaw-dropping political comeback), Trump made it clear that he’s not wedded to a one-size-fits-all approach. He said, “I support a plan of peace, and it can take different forms… I support whatever solution we can do to get peace. There are other ideas other than two state, but I support whatever, whatever is necessary to get not just peace, a lasting peace.” In classic Trump fashion, he cut through the nonsense and got to the point: peace, not virtue-signaling.
Compare this to the Biden-Harris administration’s obsession with a two-state solution, even as Palestinians have repeatedly rejected peace deals and used Gaza as a base for terror attacks like the one on October 7. Biden’s strategy has been so focused on appeasing the Palestinians that it derailed a historic Saudi-Israel peace agreement. Trump, meanwhile, brought the Middle East closer to peace than anyone thought possible with the Abraham Accords. Yet under Biden, not a single additional country has joined. That’s the difference between a leader who delivers and one who stumbles.
It’s also worth noting that Trump’s choice for ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, is a strong supporter of Israel’s right to defend itself and its territories, including the West Bank. That’s a far cry from the left’s usual habit of coddling regimes and groups that chant “death to America” while simultaneously funneling billions into terror operations.
Trump is once again proving why his approach works. He’s not interested in playing political games or handing veto power to bad actors. Instead, he’s focused on ensuring that Israel’s security and sovereignty come first. While the Democrats cling to a failed playbook, Trump is reminding the world that peace comes from strength, not from weakness.
