With so much attention on other pressing issues, it’s easy to forget that Biden’s original crisis was at the border.
The Democrat removed a variety of orders that kept our Southern border safe. And since January, thousands of illegal aliens have flooded the country. The law requires that captured migrants must be removed or given court dates if seeking asylum.
But we’ve seen over the year how Biden’s administration fails to follow even basic rules to keep our country safe. Tens of thousands (perhaps more) of aliens have been released into the country, without a court date. They might not even have a pending case. They are essentially giving a pass to enter the U.S., no strings attached.
No wonder so many more are rushing to get it. Now, a group of congressmen is demanding answers from Biden’s DHS head.
U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, has led a coalition of 20 congressional members who sent a letter of inquiry to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas seeking answers to questions related to directives he’s issued to release into the general public illegal immigrants without following laws established by Congress…
“Due to the unprecedented nature of this crisis, it is dangerously irresponsible for your Department to not be as transparent as possible with the American people, the states of this union, and the localities facing the frontline effects of this crisis.” [Source: Just the News]
These congressmen have sent 13 questions to Mayorkas related to the crisis on the border. He has until September 6 to answer them. If not, they can introduce a resolution of inquiry that will press the DHS to respond.
Among the information they are demanding, Roy and the other congressman want the documents related to Biden’s orders to the DHS. They also want to see the data related to the people who have illegally crossed the border since the start of the year. On top of that, they want data about border agents who were removed from their posts and illegal aliens who were COVID positive, but still released into the country.
Much of this information has been floating around for a while now, as various agencies give us just glimpses of what’s going on. But the country has not gotten the full scope of Biden’s border crisis and the major toll it will have on our country.
The United States cannot sustain endless migration from the South, as nearly one million people try to get in illegally. And with all of Biden’s bellyaching about vaccines, it is ridiculous that his DHS is releasing sick people into the country.
Should Rep. Roy get the information he is demanding, make no doubt that he will release it to the public. Americans will find out just how terrible the situation is. And no deflections or excuses from the White House will erase the damage they’ve caused.
The 2022 election won’t come fast enough, after that.
