RFK Jr Gives Trump An Offer – Will Donald Accept?

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent presidential candidate, and former president Donald Trump will both be speaking at the Libertarian National Convention in Washington, D.C., beginning on May 24. The latter has an unusual proposal for their intersection: a debate.

Kennedy issued an open letter to Trump on X, challenging him to a debate at the convention, calling it “ideal neutral terrain” and stating that the organizers “are game” for a confrontation.

Kennedy added, “So let us get together at the Libertarian convention and demonstrate to the American people that at least two of the major contenders are not scared to debate one another.” “We are willing to spend our time there to give the American people the discussion they deserve,” I inquired of the convention organizers.

The independent candidate encouraged Trump even more.

Kennedy boasted, “I am also getting a lot of people from your previous followers,” alluding to polls showing Trump is losing ground to Kennedy. “They are furious that you stacked your government with swamp monsters, built up the deficit, and closed their enterprises during the COVID pandemic.”

There is no assurance that the two candidates will meet because Kennedy will speak at the Libertarian Convention on May 24 and Trump on May 25. If his decision not to participate in debates during the Republican primary is any guide, Trump is unlikely to debate RFK Jr. Trump declined because he thought he had little to gain from criticism from his own party at a time when he was leading the polls by a wide margin.

Kennedy’s 10% average polling suggests that a similar situation may be unfolding, according to FiveThirtyEight. In an attempt to support a debate between the two, Kennedy claimed that certain polls had him ahead of the 15% mark for the presidential debate.

In an effort to attract supporters away from the Republican debates and maybe break Kennedy’s support among Libertarians, Trump attempted to appear at the Libertarian convention.

In an earlier statement, Trump added, “It is a pleasure to join liberals in Washington, DC, later this month. They are some of the most independent and brilliant minds in our Country.” “To enhance freedom and liberty for every American, we must all work together, and a second Trump administration will accomplish that aim.”
