If Western forces enter Ukraine, you’ll have a worldwide nuclear conflict in return. Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, made this explicit warning on Thursday while advising the West to stay out of the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.
According to the AP, he stressed his willingness to thwart Russian advances in Ukraine at any cost at a state-of-the-nation speech ahead of next month’s election, which he is almost expected to win.
Reiterating previous threats of starting a global nuclear conflict, Putin warned that there would be “tragic” consequences for the countries that choose to send Western ground troops to Ukraine in the future. This was a subtly coded reference to French President Emmanuel Macron’s comment earlier this week that such a deployment is possible.
According to Breitbart News, Macron stated that “we must do all we can to attain our aim” and that dispatching Western forces to Ukraine “should not be ruled out.”
“There is nothing to omit. Macron stated that he believed Russia was getting ready to annex more land outside of Ukraine. “We will do all in our power to ensure that Russia does not prevail,” he added.
Putin stated that Western partners were “picking targets for attacking our land and selecting the most efficient as they believe striking assets and talking about the potential of sending a NATO deployment to Ukraine,” while accusing Russia of planning to strike NATO allies in Europe.
The Russian president declared, “We recall the destiny of those who deployed their army contingents to the territory of our nation.” “Now, the possible invaders will face even more catastrophic results.”
He went on, asking, “Don’t they grasp it?” suggesting that Western officials are speculating about the possibility of becoming more deeply involved in the fight. “Those individuals don’t understand what war is since they haven’t faced any difficult obstacles.”
The 71-year-old stressed that Russia possesses nuclear weapons that are in “full readiness,” claiming that the armed services have deployed powerful new weaponry, some of which have been tested on the Ukrainian battlefield.
