DeSantis Vows To Protect The Freedoms Of Everyone – Even Outside America

When the pandemic first hit the globe, most nations followed the same, disastrous protocol. They instituted harsh lockdowns that prevented most citizens from moving around. Economies were crushed, jobs were lost, and lives were destroyed. And many critics suggested these lockdowns did little to affect the virus.

In America, conservative states quickly ended these measures, reopening their economies. What do ya know? They ended up doing well. As vaccines became more widely available, other states and countries reopened as well. But for some reason, the island nations of New Zealand and Australia have been reluctant to take sound measures to restore life.

In fact, Australia has recently returned to strict lockdowns on its citizens’ liberties, leading to intense protests. Now, the Florida governor is speaking out, saying what America should do.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis called on the United States government to cool diplomatic relations with Australia over reports that country’s draconian COVID-19 lockdown measures, which have recently given way to massive — and often violent — protests…

DeSantis took aim at Australia’s COVID-19 measures in a speech late Tuesday, questioning President Joe Biden’s decision to maintain diplomatic relations with Australia in light of forced lockdowns…

“That’s not a free country. It’s not a free country at all,” DeSantis said. “In fact, I mean, I wonder why we would still have the same diplomatic relations when they’re doing that. Is Australia freer than China, communist China, right now? I don’t know. The fact that that’s even a question tells you something has gone dramatically off the rails with some of this stuff.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Gov. DeSantis gave a speech recently defending his COVID response over the last two years. The liberal media was totally brutal against DeSantis, as he took aggressive steps to end lockdowns and restore normalcy to the state. As many liberal states kept their economies frozen, DeSantis reopened everything, focusing on protecting the most vulnerable.

He was successful, and many conservative states followed his lead. The numbers in Florida were always under control, contradicting the media’s hysterical narrative that only extreme measures (that hurt our country) would work. For that, they tried to make the governor look like a monster (even as a real monster, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, wreaked havoc in New York).

It’s no surprise DeSantis is criticizing Australia. He is asking why our country still has diplomatic ties with a nation that is oppressing its people. The lockdowns are so severe, that many violent protests have occurred in Victoria. Australians are suffering as they lose their jobs, livelihoods, educations, and freedoms.

DeSantis bashed the country, saying it’s not free at all. He raises a good question. Why is America pretending like this is normal? Why hasn’t our government leaned on Australia, urging them to lift these lockdowns? Why aren’t they instead encouraging vaccination and basic ways to stay healthy?

We can’t answer those questions—but Biden sure can. And he better.
