For some strange reason, the D.C. establishment hates former Democrat representative and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that she refuses to bow to the corrupt special interests that control D.C.?
Hillary Clinton, bizarrely, accused Gabbard of being a Russian agent. To get back at her own party, Gabbard has become increasingly aligned with conservatives. She even attended and spoke at CPAC, the largest conservative convention—where Trump himself spoke.
That seemed to ruffle the feathers of yet another establishment toadie. Mitt Romney attacked Gabbard in another bizarre slander. Now, the former rep is firing back.
Former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard has sent Sen. Mitt Romney a crease-and-desist letter over the Utah Republican’s recent accusation that she has told “treasonous lies.”
The letter, which Gabbard posted to her social media, accuses Romney of making “false and defamatory statements” and encourages him to enter into a settlement with her before the process reaches the litigation stages.
“Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda,” Romney tweeted March 13 about the ex-Hawaii congresswoman, as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was roughly two weeks old. “Her treasonous lies may well cost lives.” [Source: Just the News]
Mitt Romney, failed GOP candidate who is largely hated by his own party, accused Gabbard of spreading Russian propaganda and “treasonous lies.” Treason is an ugly word. And the crime of treason carries serious consequences. For a senator to use it against anyone is underhanded and low. I guess Romney was hoping people have forgotten that Gabbard is a major in the Army National Guard and served two tours of duty in the Middle East?
Gabbard hit back with a cease-and-desist letter, warning Romney to settle before it reached the courts.
Romney, for his part, failed to explain his statements. He accused Gabbard of making “treason” but failed to off specifics. I guess we’re just supposed to believe the RINO, because we trust him so much?
As we’ve said before, this is nothing new. The swamp has gone after Gabbard for many years, because of her criticism of special interest groups and the corruption that is rampant in D.C. And she seems to be making the same enemies as Donald Trump.
The ugly establishment hates anyone of influence that exposes its corruption. Gabbard has made a name for herself doing just that. She is by no means a conservative, but she seems to have common values that make her a willing ally.
Trump just might have to invite her down to Mar-A-Largo for a powwow.
