We don’t hear much from former President George W. Bush, these days. Perhaps, for some of you, you’re just fine with that. But the former president does make appearances from time to time. And recently, he gave a speech about the current conflict going on in the world.
He spoke about Vladimir Putin, one of his contemporaries, and the horrific actions he has taken as President of Russia. Bush condemned Putin’s incursions, including “rigged” elections that happen allegedly in his homeland. But then, when discussing Putin’s invasion, made an obvious gaffe.
But how he handled it is in stark contrast to our current “Commander in Chief.”
Former President George W. Bush made an eye-catching gaffe regarding Iraq while condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
Bush delivered remarks regarding the importance of democracy and threats to democracy in the U.S. and abroad…
“In contrast, Russian elections are rigged,” he said. “Political opponents are imprisoned or otherwise eliminated from participating in the electoral process. The result is an absence of checks and balances in Russia and the decision of one man to launch a wholly unjustified and brutal invasion of Iraq. I mean of Ukraine.” […]
“Anyway, 75,” Bush added, referring to his age. [Source: Fox News]
While criticizing Putin’s policies in Russia, former President Bush confused “Ukraine” with “Iraq.” But he quickly caught the error and corrected himself. And he brushed off the simple mistake by admitting his age, 75.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Iraq would come to Bush’s mind while discussing global conflict. As president, he presided over a long and controversial war in Iraq—one in which Russia played a role. But notice how easily he caught the mistake and moved on.
The same can’t be said for Joe Biden who, even with a teleprompter, often fumbles his speeches. Biden is only a few years old than Bush, but struggles to get out even simple sentences. He frequently appears tired, irritated, and uninterested when he speaks. And his gaffes go well beyond mistaking one nation for another.
Biden slurs his words, forgets names (even the names of family members), and rambles into incoherence. He clearly can’t walk on his own. And his handlers heavily edit his videos and control his time in the public.
Hell, they even had someone dressed up as the Easter Bunny to keep an eye on Joe during the Egg Hunt.
Does that sound like a man who should be running the country? Bush just slipped up on one word and recovered.
But Biden can’t even make sense, even when given a script. They have resorted to a fake office set to record events because they can better control it than the real Oval Office. From all appearances, this is a fake administration with a confused old man being told what to do.
Perhaps Americans need to push for an investigation?
