It’s been pretty clear for a while now that Joe Biden is not in charge. He may be called the “president” by the liberal media, but all signs point to other folks making decisions behind the scenes. Biden’s handlers trot him out whenever it’s convenient. Otherwise, they keep a tight lid on what he says and does.
At this point, he’s little more than a mouth and signing hand.
But recently, they were not able to keep a lid on Biden’s comments. Especially when, in Japan, a reporter asked him about America’s commitment to protecting Taiwan from aggressor China. Biden answered in the affirmative that we would “get involved militarily” if China invaded the sovereign state.
Apparently, that wasn’t in the script. So, the people who really run the White House had to correct him.
Asked if he would be willing to get involved militarily to defend Taiwan, Biden replied, “Yes. That’s the commitment we made,” citing the Taiwan Act…
The United States does not recognize Taiwan as a state, a concession to China granted by former President Jimmy Carter…
The White House soon issued a statement to the media reassuring the world once again that Biden’s remarks did not create a new military commitment for America.
“As the President said, our policy has not changed. He reiterated our One China policy and our commitment to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.
He also reiterated our commitment under the Taiwan Relations Act to provide Taiwan with the military means to defend itself,” the official said. [Source: Breitbart]
How pathetic. Democrats have long bowed to China over the issue of Taiwan. Jimmy Carter refused to stand up for the country, instead agreeing with China’s false definition of Taiwan. But Biden slipped up and said we would defend Taiwan against China if the communist regime tried to attack it.
Oh, no! An American “president” promising to do the right thing against an oppressive and criminal regime like China? We can’t have that! Biden’s handlers had to quickly gaslight the world by saying Biden was merely “reiterating” the vague and unhelpful “One China policy” that refuses to acknowledge Taiwan as a country.
Gee, I wonder who decided to contract “President” Biden? Perhaps those staff in the White House that were placed there at the behest of China? We all know Biden is in China’s pocket. But they most certainly have aides in the White House, also in China’s pocket, to make sure Biden stays in line.
The DNC is all but a puppet to this communist nation. You’ll see few liberals willing to call out China for its human rights violations and exploitation of its working-class (not to mention its routine abuse of women). Democrat-run companies like Disney and the NBA refuse to confront China—they’d lose too much money.
But for once, Biden did the right thing and said we’d side with Taiwan, a free nation, over corrupt China. And whoever really is in charge had to nip it in the bud.
I doubt Biden even realized what he was doing. But he’ll certainly pay for it when he gets home.
