Abbott Goes Nuclear After Democrats Walk Out On Vote

The battle to preserve our democracy has fallen on the shoulders of conservative-run states. Today, we can’t count on the federal government, corrupt as it is, to protect our values and rights. So, numerous Republican governors have taken up the mantle to make sure there is still a United States in four years.

And the battle has never been more fierce, than in the area of election integrity.

It’s no secret the 2020 election was marred by many reports of voter fraud. Several states violated their own laws by making last-minute changes to voting rules. In recent months, many states have passed new laws to secure their elections and ensure the disaster that was 2020 never happens again.

Texas already has some of the strongest voting laws on the books. But they sought to further secure future elections with a new bill. Democrats, terrified their days of committing voter fraud are over, tried to block the final vote by walking out of the chambers.

So, the governor made this threat.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said Monday that he would veto the portion of the state budget that funds the legislative branch, one day after Democratic lawmakers blocked a Republican-backed election bill in the House…

“I will veto Article 10 of the budget passed by the legislature. Article 10 funds the legislative branch,” Abbott said. “No pay for those who abandon their responsibilities. Stay tuned.”

Abbott’s action came hours after Democratic lawmakers left the House floor and broke quorum ahead of a planned vote on Senate Bill 7, a measure which had drawn widespread criticism from the party. As a result of the protest, the Texas House was unable to hold a vote on the bill prior to a midnight deadline. [Source: Fox News]

Abbott is dropping the hammer on Democrats who staged a bogus protest. They left the building because they knew they didn’t have the votes to block this bill from passing. So, instead of upholding democracy, they stormed out like children having a temper tantrum.

The governor’s plan to veto their budget isn’t a response to Democrats’ opposition to the bill. Lawmakers are free to hold their own views of legislation (although we all know not a single Democrat has an original thought in their heads). Abbott is simply holding these lawmakers accountable for refusing to do their job.

What message does this send to residents, when their elected officials won’t even stay in the building? These liberals can grandstand all they want, but when they storm out to disrupt the democratic process, they prove they are not interested in serving the public. Instead, they are only interested in pushing their radical agenda.

Their little stunt brings back memories of when Nancy Pelosi and other D.C. Democrats stormed out of talks with President Trump. All to stand in front of cameras and throw around accusations. That’s all Democrats are good for. They can’t lead or provide good solutions for our country. They are only interested in stirring up as much drama as they can, to get attention.

I hope Abbott vetoes their budget and sends them home crying.
