Former President Trump paid tribute to the thousands of Americans who died in the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001, that were carried out by Islamic terrorists. He also praised the brave people who rushed to help after the attacks.
“The pain and suffering of that awful day will never be forgotten by those who witnessed the terror caused by the September 11 terrorist attacks,” Trump stated in a video posted to Truth Social this week.
Trump said that “the sights and sounds of dark clouds of smoke billowing across Lower Manhattan” following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in NYC and the Pentagon building in Washington, DC, as well as the hijacked United Airline flight 93, which was supposed to hit Washington, DC, but instead crashed in Pennsylvania as a result of the bravery of the people on board, “are etched into our memories forever.”
“A gap that can never be filled, 2,977 priceless lives were brutally snatched from us that morning 22 years ago, and we mourn them today on the somber anniversary of those horrific assaults,” said President Trump. “Whatever occurs, it will never be filled.”
“All the lovely families they have left behind, whose suffering is indescribable, will be remembered in our prayers. What they’ve been through is unbelievably heartbreaking,” Trump added before thanking the courageous first responders who worked diligently in the days and weeks following the terrorist attacks and “in lots of cases sacrificed their own lives in the line of duty.”
“We salute the first responders, military personnel, Port Authority officers, law enforcement from Virginia, D.C., and the Pentagon, as well as the firefighters and the magnificent New York Police Dept. These individuals, along with other first responders across the nation, acted with extraordinary bravery and bravely went to the scene of a horrific crime. After leaving other distant states, they would go to Pennsylvania, the Pentagon, and the site of the World Trade Center.”
Trump said, “May God bless the memories of everyone who died in the 9/11 attacks, which we will never, ever forget. We will always remember you. We care for you. God bless them and God bless the United States.”
