Supreme Court Investigation Intensifies–Justices Demand Phone Records

Americans were shocked when they learned that someone within the Supreme Court leaked a draft opinion to the media. Scratch-that, Republicans were shocked that someone leaked the document. Democrats, ignoring this gross violation of law, used the scandal to try to pressure the court to change its ruling on Roe v. Wade.

Proving they were in favor of this crime that undermined the integrity of our court. Chief Justice Roberts, among the other justices, was furious that someone would try to interfere with the court’s process. He ordered an investigation to root out the leaker—which some say broke obstruction of justice laws.

Now, the investigation is taking on a new level.

Officials at the Supreme Court are ramping up their search for the individual who leaked the draft opinion earlier this month that indicated the high court may soon overturn Roe v. Wade.

CNN reports that authorities are requiring law clerks to provide cell phone records and sign affidavits.

The report suggests that some clerks are so alarmed over the new request that they have begun pondering hiring their own outside counsel.

The move by the court is unprecedented and the most significant publicly reported development made, thus far, in the investigation into who provided Politico with the draft opinion that was published the night of May 2. [Source: Just the News]

Honestly, I’m surprised something hasn’t happened sooner. The fact that this leaker hasn’t already been found, fired, and prosecuted is serious. It means they are still working within the Supreme Court, potentially undermining other cases.

This latest move is an attempt by the court to expose the leaker’s agenda. You have to wonder why Politico—the website that published the leaked draft—hasn’t come forward with information. Shouldn’t they know whom sent them this draft? Don’t they have information to share?

I’m shocked the FBI and DOJ haven’t issued warrants for Politico’s communications. But at least the court is leaving no stone unturned to find this leaker.

In reality, this leaker probably should just turn themselves in. He (or they) are better off revealing themselves, to make it go easier. Chances are, they will receive praise and protection from the liberal media. Might as well make it known now, so at least the country and trust in the court again.

Until then, how do we know another leak won’t come out?
