Four Democrat members of Congress just flew down to El Salvador to demand the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a man who is accused of being both a member of the notorious MS-13 gang and a domestic abuser. Yes, you read that right—these elected officials are burning jet fuel and bending over backwards for an illegal immigrant with a rap sheet.
Following in the absurd footsteps of Senator Chris Van Hollen, who already made headlines for traveling to El Salvador to cozy up with this gang-affiliated deportee, Reps. Yassamin Ansari of Arizona, Maxine Dexter of Oregon, Maxwell Frost of Florida, and Robert Garcia of California all packed their bags for a PR stunt that would be laughable if it weren’t so disgraceful. Garcia, by the way, arrived in the United States illegally himself—so maybe this hits close to home for him.

The press release, which reads more like a love letter to lawlessness, refers to Garcia as a “Maryland man,” despite the fact that he entered the country illegally more than a decade ago. He didn’t immigrate legally, he wasn’t naturalized, and he didn’t earn citizenship—he simply broke the law and stayed. And now that President Trump is using the full authority of the executive branch to remove violent criminals like him, the Left wants to paint him as a victim. It’s the same tired playbook: ignore the facts, weaponize identity politics, and scream “constitutional crisis” into every microphone they can find.
Rep. Ansari, whose parents fled Iran, actually compared Abrego Garcia’s deportation to authoritarian “disappearances.” That’s not just delusional—it’s offensive to every real political dissident who’s ever been thrown into a gulag. Her grandstanding didn’t stop there. She warned that Trump’s administration is on the verge of targeting American citizens next, calling it an “attack on our Constitution.” Apparently, following the law is now tyranny.
Rep. Garcia chimed in with his own melodrama, accusing Trump and ICE of “kidnapping immigrants.” Frost, one of the most radical members of the new progressive class, went even further, calling the deportation a “government-funded kidnapping program” and branding Abrego Garcia as “Trump’s latest victim.” These people aren’t serious—they’re actors reading from the same tired script written by left-wing activist groups that see every deportation as a civil rights violation.
What they’re not telling you is this: Kilmar Abrego Garcia was identified by the Department of Homeland Security as a known MS-13 gang member. Not “suspected”—identified. He’s also facing serious accusations of domestic abuse, with his wife reportedly filing for a protective order. And yet, these Democrats are treating him like a persecuted hero rather than the public threat he’s been shown to be.
And let’s be clear—this isn’t about “due process.” Garcia got more due process than many Americans ever receive. But once the courts ruled and his deportation was lawfully carried out, these radical Democrats decided that wasn’t enough. They didn’t like the outcome, so now they want to rewrite the rules. If they had it their way, we’d be flying plane loads of gang members back into the country on taxpayer-funded charter flights—complete with welcome baskets and legal aid.
None of this nonsense is official business, either. Their trip wasn’t authorized. House Oversight Chairman James Comer refused to approve their request to make this an official congressional delegation. So they went rogue. This is a partisan temper tantrum, not a policy mission. But rest assured, they’ll use every photo op and social media post to cry about “constitutional rights” for someone who never had any business being in this country in the first place.
What the Democrats are really doing here is simple: undermining law enforcement, glorifying criminals, and chipping away at the very concept of national sovereignty. If this is their idea of defending “democracy,” we want no part of it.
