In 2025, we’ve got a mayor-elect talking openly about shifting the tax burden based on race—then trying to backpedal when pressed about it. But President Trump wasn’t having it, and neither was conservative journalist Jack Posobiec, who called Mamdani out right to his face.
Let’s be clear: Mamdani’s policy isn’t about fairness, no matter how he tries to spin it. His own campaign platform says he wants to “shift the tax burden from overtaxed homeowners in the outer boroughs to more expensive homes in richer and whiter neighborhoods.” That’s not coded language. When Posobiec asked Mamdani point-blank if he was continuing with this race-based tax idea, Mamdani tried to dance around it. The left wants to call it “fairness.” But fairness doesn’t mean punishing success. Fairness means equal treatment under the law. If your property is worth more, sure, pay a bit more. But that should be based on value, not the racial makeup of your neighborhood. Mamdani’s policy moves away from that principle and heads down a path that reeks of Marxism.
Let’s not forget how Mamdani got here. He didn’t win with broad support. He won because he promised free stuff and played the race card. According to reports, he had a 20-point lead with Hispanic voters and a 26-point lead with Black voters. Cuomo, who ran as an independent after losing the Democrat primary, had more support among white voters. That tells you all you need to know—Mamdani built his campaign around division, not unity.
And this is the real problem with cities like New York. The Democrats have run them into the ground with soft-on-crime policies, high taxes, and anti-police rhetoric. Now, instead of fixing the mess, Mamdani wants to double down on failed socialist experiments. Meanwhile, President Trump is in the White House doing what he always does—standing up for common sense, law and order, and the American people.
Trump knows New York. He built his name there before the radical left took it over. And now he’s calling out people like Mamdani who want to turn it into a socialist playground. We need more of that.
