We all know a Democrat within the Supreme Court leaked the draft opinion on Roe. The goal was obvious, to stir up outrage so the justices would be intimidated into changing their decision.
It was an ugly—and illegal—move. But it worked. Activists have been protesting and harassing Supreme Court justices. A group of losers posted justices’s private information online. And many appeared at their homes to bully the highest court in the land.
It is against federal law to protest, in order to force a judge to rule a certain way. I guess Democrats never bothered to brush up on law when they sicced their activists on the court.
Now, to look like they actually care about our judicial system, Senate Democrats joined with Republicans to pass a bill.
The U.S. Senate passed legislation Monday to protect Supreme Court justices’ families amid protests over a leaked early draft of a majority opinion indicating Roe v. Wade would likely be overturned.
The proposal — sponsored by Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Sen. Chris Coons (D-DE) — passed via voice vote with no objections, ABC News reported. The legislation would offer the nine justices security protections in line with members of the legislative and executive branches.
“Trying to scare federal judges into ruling a certain way is far outside the bounds of normal First Amendment speech or protest,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said before the vote, according to ABC. [Source: Daily Wire]
Apparently, Congress was enjoying the kind of security that was denied our justices. We don’t need to speculate on why Republicans voted on this bill. They were the only voices outraged that someone leaked this bill. Democrats have yet to condemn this leak. Even though it was a crime, the DOJ has not done a thing.
But Democrats need to pretend like they care about our society. So, they agreed to pass this bill, so it looks as if they want our justices safe. But this is the same party (and politicians) who threatened the justices in the past. And who were equally outraged with activists that Roe will be overturned.
The fate of this bill, however, remains unclear. Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of this pathetic House, has applauded the protests. She is even encouraging crime by urging more “pressure” on our Supreme Court.
Would she support a bill that offers safety for our justices?
Would Biden, who has done little to condemn the threats of violence, sign the bill into law?
We can’t be sure.
