According to a recent survey, President Joe Biden is trailing former President Donald Trump, his presumed GOP opponent, in almost every crucial state that influenced the outcome of the 2020 election.
Released on Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal poll results indicate that, after accounting for third-party candidates, Trump leads Biden in the majority of the contested 2024 states. Wisconsin is an exception to the pattern, with Biden leading by three points in a head-to-head contest and the candidates deadlocked if third-party and independent candidate alternatives are offered.
In direct contests, Trump leads Biden in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. From a low of one point in Georgia to a high of six points in North Carolina, Trump’s lead fluctuates.
Add independent and third-party candidates, and Trump’s lead increases in North Carolina and Georgia but decreases in Michigan.
Voters’ low opinion of the president on important topics like immigration and the economy appears to be the main cause of Biden’s dismal performance in battleground states. With a 54% to 34% advantage on the economy and a 52% to 32% advantage on immigration, Trump has a noticeably better popularity rating among Americans than Biden on both topics. According to a Wall Street Journal poll, 48% of respondents believe that Trump is more intellectually and physically capable of handling the position than Biden.
When it comes to abortion, Biden leads Trump: 45% of people say they agree with his view, while 33% say they favor Trump’s.
Democrats are becoming concerned about Biden’s subpar polling, according to seasoned Democratic political advisor James Carville.
“These polling statistics make me feel as though I am coming into your grandmother’s nude room.” Carville said to Maureen Dowd, a journalist for the New York Times, last month, “You cannot get the image out of your head.”
The president’s low popularity among voters is apparently another issue that worries Biden and his staff members within the White House. According to reports, Biden snaps at advisors and supporters during strategy meetings. He feels that misinformation about his accomplishments, not his mission, is the main issue.
The issue seems to have deteriorated Biden’s relationship with some of his Democratic friends seems to have deteriorated as a result of the issue.
“I am ready, Biden said as he got up in front of everyone on the planet. Representative Adam Smith (D-WA) declared last month that “I am the one who can take down Donald Trump.” Thus, he had better do it darn well. We do not have time for him to worry about whether or not the poll figures are accurate or if people are expressing things correctly. Instead of defensive rage, I desire concentrated energy.
