A Mexican immigrant who had previously been deported on four separate occasions fatally shot a total of five Honduran neighbors in Cleveland, Texas, prompting failed Senate, presidential, and gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke to demand for greater gun regulation.
According to Breitbart News, a 38-year-old suspect, Francisco Oropeza, shot and murdered five persons after being ordered to stop firing his weapon in the front yard.
According to ABC News, Sheriff Greg Capers of San Jacinto County said, “My understanding is that some of the victims went up to the fence and stated, ‘Hey, could you refrain from doing your shooting here in the yard?’ We have a tiny infant who is attempting to sleep,’ and it turns out he had been drinking and adds, ‘I will do anything I want in my front yard.’”
Capers described Oropeza as a “Mexican male subject” who managed to leave the area before police showed up.
In his attack, he allegedly used an AR-15 rifle or an AR-15 variant.
In East Texas, federal, state, and local authorities are looking for murder suspect Francisco Oropeza.
“Our hearts go out to all those that lost friends and family in San Jacinto County last evening,” O’Rourke tweeted in response to the assault. “AR-15s have only one purpose: to murder people. We may either accept their continuous sale as the cost of living (and dying) in America, or we may choose to do the right thing and restrict their use to military purposes.”
Breitbart News reported on September 12, 2019, that O’Rourke declared to the camera during a Democratic presidential primary debate, “Hell yes, we are going to confiscate your AR-15 and your AK-47.”
One month later, he did it again.
On June 21, 2022, Breitbart News discovered that there are greater numbers of AR-15s/AK-47s in existence than F-Series Ford trucks on American highways, according to the National Shooting Sports Association estimates.
In mid-summer 2022, there were approximately 25 million AR-15s and AK-47s in circulation, up roughly five million from the previous year.
