The left never thought they’d see it happen. But we are only weeks away from a tough recall election that could decide California’s fate.
Thanks to Gov. Gavin Newsom’s poor landline of lockdowns and other mandates, the people of California embraced a recall election. This September, they will decide whether or not to remove Newsom from office—and replace him with someone else.
For a while, it didn’t look like Newsom had anything to fear. Then, recently, polls started to reveal he was in bigger trouble than he thought. And even a CBS poll is showing he’s very close to losing it big time.
A CBS News/YouGov poll released Sunday shows 48% of likely California voters favoring a recall of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) and 52% opposed to his removal — a result within the poll’s 4% margin of error.
The poll, conducted August 6-12, also found that conservative talk radio host Larry Elder leads the 46-candidate field of contenders to replace Newsom, with 23% of the vote, ahead of real estate YouTuber Kevin Paffrath (13%), and 25% of voters undecided. [Source: Breitbart]
Election polls are always questionable, considering how liberal outlets might want to “sway” the results. But for this poll to have Newsom’s fail within the margin of error showed not even CBS can protect the Democrat.
Larry Elder, a conservative commentator and radio host, shook up the recall election by entering the race. He quickly jumped to the top of the field, giving Newsom a very real run for his money.
Most of the polls have Elder as the top contender in the recall race. And now, Elder is promising Californians a return to freedom, if he wins the election.

Elder, who has stated he is vaccinated from COVID, promised to lift vaccine mandates and mask mandates currently imposed by California’s governor. This is sure to strike a tone with many residents, as Newsom’s shifting and unreliable COVID response is what got him in this mess in the first place.
Many liberal states have been pushing vaccine mandates for government workers. In some CA counties, proof of vaccination is required before entering a restaurant or store. This comes as the media and Biden administration hype up the “delta variant,” even as Americans are done caring about the virus.
Elder is promising to put vaccination decisions in Americans’ hands. Instead of mandating it through the government, he is trusting individuals and families can make those decisions themselves. That is very different from the left, who thinks the government should decide that for you.
We can’t predict what will happen on September 14, but the race is very close. Elder is doing everything he can to win over voters. Meanwhile, Newsom ignores what is going on in his state and continues to punish residents.
