Ric Grenell, a close friend of Trump, is working with the former president to bring attention to the fact that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is buying up U.S. farms.
Grenell told Breitbart News on Saturday that the CCP is a threat to American farms and talked about an event with former President Trump that will happen later this month in Pennsylvania as part of the Protecting America Initiative.
Grenell explained, “We’re holding this event in Pennsylvania because the Communist Chinese government has been very active in trying to get into the United States over the last 10 years. This campaign has taken many forms.”
“They have gotten into our federal politics and state politics. They used us pretty badly during COVID. We know there are problems with the supply chain, but they are also starting to buy land.” He said, “They are taking advantage of our farmers by manipulating prices, and it’s affecting how the US feeds its own people.” He added that this is an “aggressive” tactic.
“It looks like a bold plan is taking shape, and it’s clear that the Chinese will start to use their power. We know they do that. I’ve been in the Security Council of the U.N. for eight years and have seen the Chinese slowly but surely start to use their power. They did this exact thing at the U.N. by slowly taking over jobs there,” he said, giving a great example of how they worked.
“Their own people, the Communist Chinese, were taking over office at the UN. They did it very quietly, and now that they’re in charge, they tend to show off their power. It’s the same thing they’re doing with American land,” said the former US ambassador to Germany.
“This is what they’re doing to American farms. They’re controlling prices to do it. This approach is methodical.”
