According to a Rasmussen survey, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden by seven points in a possible general election match-up.
According to the study, which was commissioned by Political Media and initially published by the Post Millenial, 48 percent of potential voters choose Trump, while 41 percent support Biden.
Trump’s net favorability rating is plus 20 points, with around 59 percent believing he is favorable, “including 37% with a Very Favorable impression,” according to Rasmussen Reports. Four in five Republicans (81 percent) regard Trump favorably, as do 58 percent of people who are not associated with either major party.
Biden’s favorability rating, on the other hand, is seven points worse. The commander-in-chief is only seen favorably by 46 percent of respondents, including 80 percent of Democrats.
Rasmussen also questioned respondents on Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), who has not declared a presidential run but has routinely ranked as Trump’s top competitor. Sixty percent of those polled like DeSantis, while thirty-three percent dislike him.
From April 27 to May 2, the survey sampled 1,050 likely voters throughout the nation, with a margin of error of three percentage points.
A second YouGov/Economist survey issued on Wednesday found Trump and Biden in a dead draw among U.S. adults, with both candidates polling at 41 percent. Another 7% are unsure or would vote for a different candidate, while 10% would not vote. When just registered voters were included, they remained deadlocked at 46 percent.
Trump leads with independents 36 percent to 32 percent, but Biden leads with women 43 percent to 38 percent. 39 percent of all respondents say Trump would win the election, while 41 percent believe Biden would win.
YouGov also questioned respondents who they would support in a matchup between Biden and DeSantis. Biden retains 41 percent of adult participants’ support, while DeSantis receives 36 percent, a five-point decline from Trump. Biden leads the contest among voters, around 45 percent to 42 percent.
Furthermore, 39 percent of adults believe Biden will defeat the governor, while 35 percent believe DeSantis will prevail.
