In a message to Democrats, former presidential candidate Marianne Williamson said that ignoring the worry that migrants are eating cats will hurt them in the race.
People in Springfield, Ohio, have said on social media that Haitian immigrants are catching and killing pets, but certain officials in the area have said they haven’t heard any true reports of this. The story has gone viral on social media, and during the debate, Vice President Kamala Harris used it to try to make former President Donald Trump look crazy.
“Elite jerks who are too proud to listen to anyone outside their own tiny group”
Williamson wrote on social media, “Continuing to attack Trump over the ‘eating cats’ problem will backfire on November 5.”
“Haitian magic is real,” she said, “and disregarding the story without hearing the people of Springfield, Ohio reinforces the idea in the minds of many voters that Democrats are cocky elite jerks who believe they are too smart to listen to anyone outside their own group.”
No matter what the problem with people eating pets is, people in the area have asked officials to do something to help the community deal with the effects of a lot of newcomers.
“Let me be clear: this has nothing to do with race. This is about people coming from another country and not caring about our people, our land, or the work we’ve done all their lives. Someone from Springfield told the Springfield panel, “People are living their lives here the way they did in Haiti.”
People who are against Trump and members of the media have said that the pet-eating story is based on racism and hatred.
As a result of the negative feedback, Trump has shown that he will not give up on the problem by sharing political cat jokes on Truth Social.
In 2024, Williamson ran for president in the Democratic primary, but she had to end her campaign because she wasn’t getting enough support.
