Trump Gets Unexpected Support from Somali Immigrant After His Davos Speech

President Trump stood on the world stage in Davos and delivered a message that many politicians are too afraid to say out loud. He told the world that the West—America and Europe—must defend its culture, values, and identity. And for those of us who’ve served, who’ve worn the uniform and defended this country, his words hit home.

Trump didn’t sugarcoat it. He said, “The West cannot mass import foreign cultures.” He pointed to places like Somalia, calling it a failed state with no functioning government, no police, no military, and no real national order. He reminded everyone that America’s strength doesn’t come from tax cuts or handouts—it comes from our culture, our values, and our way of life. That’s what built the greatest fighting force in the world. That’s what made the United States a beacon of freedom.

“The situation in Minnesota reminds us that the West cannot mass import foreign cultures which have failed to ever build a successful society of their own,” he said. “We’re taking people from Somalia, and Somalia is a failed [state]. It’s not a nation, got no government, got no police, got no military, got no nothing.

“We share it, we share it. But we have to keep it strong. We have to become stronger, more successful and more prosperous than ever. We have to defend that culture and rediscover the spirit that lifted the West from the depths of the Dark Ages to the pinnacle of human achievement.”

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born activist and author, backed President Trump’s warning. She knows the truth because she lived it. Born in Somalia, she escaped a brutal life, including forced marriage and female genital mutilation. She fled to the West and fought to protect women’s rights and defend Western values. Now living in America, Hirsi Ali says what many are too afraid to say: Trump is right.

She called his speech “the most important thing.” She said Americans and Europeans need to wake up and realize that if we don’t defend our culture, we’ll lose it. She’s not talking about skin color or where people are born—she’s talking about the values that built this country. Freedom. Responsibility. Rule of law. Hard work. Those ideas are what make America special, and they’re worth protecting.

Hirsi Ali said, “I don’t think it’s an important thing. I think it is the most important thing,” she said. “Trump is right … and I can’t think of a better and more powerful platform than that of the president of the United States to say, ‘Hey, you guys wake up.’”

She continued, “I think every American and every European should know that what the president is trying to say is that what made America and Europe great is there’s this unique culture. If we don’t understand that culture and if we do not defend it, we risk losing it.”

“The economy is very important. Military is very important. All these other aspects of government are extremely important, but more important than all of that is our value system. And it’s our heritage. And it is our national identity.”

She also pointed to the fraud scandal in Minnesota, where members of the Somali immigrant community are accused of stealing millions in welfare money. She said this kind of abuse isn’t just about money—it’s about people coming here with no intention of joining our culture. They take from the system, refuse to assimilate, and then cry “racism” or “Islamophobia” when anyone calls them out. That’s not how you build a strong nation. That’s how you tear one down.

“The president is right when he says Somalia hasn’t even made it into a nation,” she said. “Every attempt at building something, making something out of Somalia has always failed because of the clan code, because of Islam, because of Marxism. We’ve had all the bad ideologies, and, as Somalis, we’ve run away with them.”

She continued, “You see that the Somalis exploit and extract the benefit system,” she said. “They tell everyone, ‘If you expose this, investigate it, object to it, stop it, you’re racist. You’re an Islamophobe. You are a bigot.

Hirsi Ali said there’s a “subversive agenda” to change America from the inside. Using our own civil rights laws and welfare systems, some groups are trying to reshape our country in ways that destroy the very freedoms they came here to enjoy. She said it clearly: if we keep importing large numbers of people from broken countries who don’t want to work, don’t want to assimilate, and only want to take, we are committing cultural and national suicide.

“If we keep on doing what we are doing, getting huge numbers of people from the Third World to come and establish themselves in the United States and European countries and depend on welfare benefits, that is to take and take and never contribute, then we’re setting ourselves up not only for failure. We’re committing a cultural and national and political suicide.”

She said the answer is simple. Secure the borders. Fix the broken welfare system. And tell immigrants they need to become Americans—not just in name, but in values. If they won’t, then we need to reconsider whether they belong here at all. That might sound harsh to some, but to those of us who’ve fought for this country, it makes perfect sense. We didn’t risk our lives so the freedoms we defended could be handed away or undermined by people who don’t even believe in them.

Hirsi Ali called Trump’s speech a “breakthrough.” She’s hoping that European leaders are finally starting to understand what many of us have known for years: our way of life is under threat. And it’s not just about borders or budgets—it’s about survival.

We must defend our culture just like we defend our borders—with strength and clarity. President Trump said what needed to be said. And Hirsi Ali is proof that even those who come from failed states can see the truth more clearly than the so-called leaders in Europe.

It’s time to stop being polite. It’s time to start defending what makes us who we are. Our future depends on it.
