Donald Trump only has one concern leading up to the the 2024 presidential race that may cause him to step aside — his health. The Former President hopes to avoid constant reporting and invasive questioning about about his health as he approaches 80 years-old, despite doctors giving him a clean bill. Like the rest of America, he’s witnessing Joe Biden’s public cognitive decline – his inability to barely utter a sentence – and the Former President would prefer to avoid that fate.
Apparently two sources close to the Former President have revealed that Trump is definitely pushing for a 2024 White House bid if his health stays intact in the meantime.
However, his main objective is to create an ideal scenario for a GOP in in 2024, whomever the candidate may be. Trump’s main goal at the moment is to win back the House and Senate from the ever-radical Democrats.
”I’ve had many discussions with him. He told me his priority is to ensure that we win the House and get the Senate back, and I know he’s working tirelessly at doing just that,” said Rep. Devin Nunes
It’s not like Trump doesn’t have Party support. According to a recent poll, 66% of Republican voters hope to see Former President Trump at the top of the ticket in 2024. Additionally, that number mirrors the overwhelming number of Republicans who believe the 2020 election was “stolen” from Trump.
The numbers fly in the face of Democrat claims that Trump’s political future is in decline. Just the opposite: Trump’s never been more popular!
Trump has remained vague on his 2024 plans, but has admitted to ”100% thinking about running again” and even vowed to pick a new running mate – perhaps Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis.
Voters “love that ticket. Certainly, Ron would be considered. He’s a great guy,” Trump said in an interview last month
“The polls show it and everybody wants me to do it,” Trump said. “One hundred percent, I’m thinking about running and we will, I think, be very successful. We were very successful.”
That being said, not all Republicans are on board with another Trump run and he is facing GOP criticism in some corners.
Republican Senator John Cornyn of Texas said, “He did a lot of good, but I think he squandered a lot of his legacy after the events on November 3. I think that was a shame, but as president you’re under an immense amount of scrutiny.”
Despite the slight criticism, it seems apparent that Republicans voters are chomping at the bit for another opportunity to vote for America’s Favorite President.
