In a statement made public this week, former President Trump urged “immediately ending the bloodshed across Ukraine” and getting back “to a focus on America’s crucial interest,” saying “Joe Biden shouldn’t be dragging us even further closer to World War III.”
Despite President Biden’s admission that “we are low on them,” Trump responded to the administration’s latest plan to supply cluster bombs to Ukraine.
“I needed to be persuaded to do it for a time. The important issue, however, is whether they possess the armaments necessary to thwart the Russians right away and prevent them from halting the Ukrainian offense throughout these regions, or they do not.” On CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS, Biden stated, “And I believe they needed them.”
But according to Trump, it is a mistake since Biden is effectively “dragging us even further towards World War III through delivering cluster munitions into Ukraine.”
Trump issued a warning:
“He should try to END the conflict and end the awful death and damage brought on by an inept government. Long after the war—we hope—has finished, these unexploded cluster bombs will continue to murder and maim innocent Ukrainian women, men, and children.”
He went on:
“If, as Biden unintentionally acknowledged, the United States is sending cluster bombs now because it is “running low on ammunition” (a major violation of classified information), that only serves to highlight how urgent it is to deescalate this bloody, hazardous and out-of-control conflict as soon as possible. It definitely implies that at a time when Crooked Joe Biden claims that our own arsenals are dangerously depleted, we shouldn’t be delivering Ukraine our remaining stocks.”
“The embarrassing admission that the United States is currently out of ammunition, something that our enemies are obviously drooling over, is the most compelling evidence that Joe Biden’s doctrine of perpetual war in Ukraine has severely harmed the country. This “admitted” vulnerability serves as a welcome mat for adversaries everywhere. Joe Biden is dangerously and recklessly guiding us into obliteration in a third world war, which would be a catastrophe beyond any comprehension.”
