The recently released biographical film “The Apprentice,” which chronicles the life of the former president in New York City, has drawn criticism for being both “cheap” and “defamatory.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed, “It’s a cheap and disgusting hatchet job, put out just before the election to harm the Greatest Political Movement ever.”
The movie tried to portray Trump negatively, but the creators acknowledged in the end credits that the picture was heavily “fictionalized for dramatic purposes,” going on to show Trump as a user of amphetamines and a sexual abuser.
The movie’s screenwriter, Gabriel Sherman, claimed that there were several obstacles in the way of the film’s development, including Hollywood’s reluctance to provide funding and performers’ reluctance to “humanize” Trump.
After seeing the movie, billionaire Dan Snyder, a major investor and Trump’s ally, allegedly threatened to abandon the project.
Variety stated that “he was [falsely] under the impression that it was a flattering portrayal of the 45th president.”
“It is rather unfortunate that individuals such as HUMAN SCUM, who are part of this endeavor that ideally fails, may say and do anything they want to harm a Political Movement that is much larger than any of us. MAGA2024” Trump went on.
The movie takes place during the first marriage of the ex-president and Ivana Trump. The actor Sebastian Stan portraying Donald Trump has a scene in which he sexually abuses his wife, Maria Bakalova.
Ivana first said that Trump had raped her in a divorce deposition, but she later withdrew that statement and acknowledged it was untrue. Additionally, Trump has refuted claims that he molested his first wife.
“Ivana, my ex-wife, was a lovely and compassionate lady, and we had a beautiful relationship up until the day of her death.” Trump continued, “Gabe Sherman, the lowlife and untalented hack who wrote this mountain of crap and has long been widely discredited, understood it, but he decided to disregard it.”
