Trump Family Hit With Life-Changing Legal Moves

Democratic Attorney General Letitia James of New York filed a lawsuit against former President Donald Trump and his three adult children on Wednesday, taking the unprecedented step of accusing them of undervaluing real estate in order to obtain lower interest rates on loans, insurance, and taxes.

The lawsuit filed by James is a civil matter, not a criminal one. It seeks a five-year ban on the Trump Organization from acquiring any commercial property or securing financial institution loans in New York, as well as a ban on Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump, from holding executive positions at any New York-based firms.

Just under 50 days before the midterm elections, James filed the complaint as the product of a multi-year probe.

Alina Habba, Trump’s lawyer, claimed that neither the law nor the facts are the main focus of the complaint.

On Sept 21, 2022 in NY, New York Attorney General Letitia James addresses the media on the financial lawsuit involving former US President Donald Trump and his family.

“Instead, it is completely committed to furthering the political agenda of the Attorney General. Inquiring into transactions when there has been absolutely no misconduct is a blatant violation of the Attorney General’s legislative jurisdiction,” according to Habba.

“We are convinced that our justice system won’t tolerate this unfettered abuse of power, and we’re looking forward to representing our client against all of the Attorney General’s baseless allegations,” she added.

The tweet from Donald Trump Jr. was more direct: “The ridiculous Democratic witch-hunt continues!” James’ video threatening to sue Trump was posted along with his tweet.

Another video of James referring to Trump as a “illegitimate president” and claiming that she was looking forward to “suing him and returning home” was also tweeted by Trump Jr.

She has also referred to him as “mad” and an “existential threat.”

“Everyone in this room faces an existential threat from this administration.”

“Getting rid of Donald Trump is the most important issue facing this nation. Nothing else matters,” according to her.

Her comments were tweeted in their entirety by Eric Trump, who added: “Not a political “witch hunt?! What a lie.”

Republican Study Chairman Of the committee, Rep. Jim Banks described James as “desperate.”

“AG Letitia James ran on a platform of suing President Trump, and she is now fervently trying to fulfill that pledge. I hope House Dems and Pres. Biden comes to their senses and repudiates this unlawful fishing expedition for the sake of our country,” he added in a statement.

When we regain control of the House, he continued, “House Republicans will hold partisan actors acting as law enforcement agents accountable for misusing their power.”
