President Donald Trump has made it clear: he’s had enough of weak immigration policies, and so have the American people. After a tragic shooting involving two National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., Trump promised big changes to keep our country safe. One of those troops has died. The other is still fighting for their life. The shooter was an Afghan national, brought into the U.S. under Biden’s failed withdrawal plan in 2021. This never should have happened.
As a military veteran, I’ve seen firsthand the dangers of poor decision-making when it comes to national security. Our troops put their lives on the line every day. They deserve better than to be targets in their own country. What happened in D.C. wasn’t just a random act of violence. It was a targeted attack by someone who never should’ve been here in the first place.
This isn’t about race or religion. It’s about safety, loyalty, and common sense. We don’t need more people crossing our borders who don’t respect our laws or our way of life. President Trump understands that. That’s why he’s calling for a permanent pause on migration from all Third World countries. Enough is enough.
Trump also said he’ll cancel all of Biden’s illegal admissions. That includes anyone brought here by Biden’s pen—or even his Autopen, which was used to sign off on thousands of entries without proper review. That kind of reckless behavior put American lives at risk. Now we’re paying the price.
We’ve seen this kind of chaos before. Look at what’s happened in cities like Minneapolis. Trump pointed out that large groups of unvetted Somali refugees have caused crime and fear to rise. Good Americans are afraid to walk down their own streets. That’s not what this country is about.
The president isn’t just talking. He’s laying out a plan. He said he’ll remove anyone who doesn’t contribute to this country or who shows they hate what America stands for. That includes cutting off federal benefits to noncitizens. If you’re here illegally or you’re not helping make the country better, you’re gone. Simple as that.
He also talked about denaturalizing migrants who work against our peace and safety. That means if someone lied to get citizenship or is caught trying to tear down this country, their citizenship can be taken away. That’s fair. Citizenship is not a free pass. It’s a responsibility.
What Trump is offering is a return to common sense. We don’t need open borders. We don’t need more crime, overcrowded hospitals, or failing schools. We need to take care of our own people first. That means protecting our troops, our families, and our neighborhoods.
This is what leadership looks like. It’s not about being politically correct. It’s about doing what’s right. We’ve had enough of weak policies that put Americans last. Trump is putting us first again.
I served this country to defend freedom and protect the homeland. I didn’t do it so our own government could open the door to danger. We need strong borders, strong policies, and strong leadership. That’s what Trump is delivering.
He ended his message with a warning to those who come here to harm us: “You won’t be here for long.” That’s exactly the message we need to send. America is a land of opportunity, but it’s not a free-for-all. If you come here to hurt us, you’ll be shown the door.
This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful we have a president who’s not afraid to speak the truth. He’s fighting for the safety of every American. And as someone who’s worn the uniform, I can tell you—he’s got the backs of our troops. It’s time to clean house and put America first, once and for all.
