President Donald Trump has drawn a hard line on the lawless protests plaguing America’s college campuses, announcing early Tuesday that all federal funding will be halted for any educational institution that allows illegal protests. This warning comes as radical anti-Israel and pro-Hamas demonstrators have turned universities into battlegrounds, intimidating Jewish students and pushing their extremist agenda with zero consequences under prior leadership.
Trump made his position clear on Truth Social, declaring that agitators will be imprisoned or deported, and American students leading violent protests will be expelled or arrested depending on the severity of their crimes. “NO MASKS!” he added, ensuring that violent protesters will no longer be able to hide behind anonymity while engaging in illegal activity.
This follows Monday’s announcement that the Trump administration is pulling more than $50 million in government contracts from Columbia University over its failure to control these extremist demonstrations. The administration is also reviewing over $5 billion in federal grants to the university to determine whether Jewish students’ rights are being violated. Columbia, now in damage control mode, claims it is committed to fighting antisemitism, though their track record tells a different story.
Trump is not waiting for universities to act on their own. In January, he reestablished the Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism, targeting the rise of pro-Hamas intimidation, graffiti, and harassment on college campuses. He also signed an executive order instructing federal agencies to find and deport resident aliens—including visa students—who participate in illegal anti-Israel protests.
This isn’t just about shutting down radical protests—it’s about restoring law and order to American campuses. No longer will violent agitators be allowed to intimidate Jewish students, vandalize property, and support terrorist organizations under the guise of free speech. Trump has made it clear: Break the law, face the consequences.
