Democratic California Rep. Adam Schiff just can’t let go of his Trump obsession. During a Monday appearance on CNN’s “January 6th: Congress Certifies the Election,” Schiff hinted at the possibility of impeachment—again. That’s right, just weeks before President-elect Donald Trump’s second inauguration, Schiff is already laying the groundwork for a sequel to his failed impeachment saga.
“If he violates the law, if he violates the Constitution, if he abuses his office, we will vigorously push back, fight back, stand up to him, as we had to do during his first term in office,” Schiff declared. Translation: We didn’t learn a thing from the first impeachment circus, so get ready for more of the same. Schiff’s comments came just hours after Trump was certified as president, marking the beginning of his second term. It seems Democrats are already sharpening their pitchforks rather than focusing on policies that might actually help the American people.
Schiff, who played a starring role in Trump’s first impeachment, seems to revel in being the Democrats’ go-to guy for baseless accusations. As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Schiff led the prosecution team during Trump’s 2020 impeachment trial, a performance that ended with a resounding acquittal in the Senate. All but one Republican, the ever-predictable Mitt Romney, voted to clear Trump of the abuse of power charge. The left’s dream of removing Trump from office went up in smoke, but Schiff’s appetite for political theater hasn’t waned.
The Democrats’ strategy is as clear as ever: distract, deflect, and demonize. Rather than focusing on pressing issues like inflation, border security, or the spiraling crime rates in cities like Schiff’s own Los Angeles, they’re gearing up for another round of political grandstanding. It’s a tired playbook, but they’re sticking to it.
Meanwhile, Trump is gearing up for a second term that promises to prioritize America-first policies—securing the border, boosting energy independence, and cutting taxes. While Schiff and his cronies are busy plotting their next impeachment charade, Trump will be focused on delivering real results for the American people. The contrast couldn’t be starker. The left’s fixation on Trump may make for good soundbites on CNN, but it’s Trump’s leadership that will continue to make America great.
