South Dakota Republican Gov Bans CRT Is Public Schools

If the COVID panic did anything good, it was opening the eyes of millions of parents. For years, they were content with dropping their kids off at public school, unaware of what was actually being taught. But the lockdowns forced kids to stay home, allowing parents to hear and see what their schools were teaching. And many parents did not like what they saw.

In many schools across America, teachers were pushing “critical race theory.” This is a dramatic re-writing of our history, viewed through the lenses of racism. Our founding fathers, our very national identity, were tarnished. Parents protested at countless school boards, provoking leftist teachers and administrations to call them “domestic terrorists.” But the tide is turning and states are starting to listen to parents.

And in Republican-led South Dakota, the governor is taking a bold step.

South Dakota Republican Gov. Kristi Noem announced on Monday that she plans to sign an executive order to ban the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the state’s K-12 schools.

Noem addressed the topic during a town hall discussion with residents in Mobridge. The governor shared a video from the event on Tuesday on social media featuring her upcoming signing.

“Critical Race Theory has no place in our South Dakota public education,” Noem wrote…

“The legislature supported and passed it and I signed into law the university one. So now, in South Dakota going forward, Critical Race Theory cannot be taught in our universities. They killed the K-12 one. So tomorrow, I will be signing an executive order to make sure that Critical Race Theory is not taught in our public school systems, too,” she added. [Source: Daily Wire]

Legislation to ban CRT curriculum in public schools was “killed” by the South Dakota legislature. It’s unclear why the same people who supported a similar for colleges shut it down in public schools. Perhaps it has something to do with teachers’ unions and the power they have over state politics? Regardless, Gov. Noem is signing an order that will ban CRT in public schools.

Numerous leftist-back teachers’ unions and school boards fired back against concerned parents. They claim schools were not teaching critical race theory in their schools. Yet, they got upset when parents brought it up? The same way they are now upset that Florida banned sexually-based teaching in 3rd grade? I smell a rat.

South Dakota follows 15 other states that have signed bans on CRT in public schools. In states that don’t have outright bans, parents are fighting back at the ballot box. Even in liberal California, school boards have been shaken up as voters elected new members, who promised to get rid of CRT.

The left can play games all they want. But we know what they are up to. And we are coming for them.
