RFK Jr. Announces Controversial Running Mate Choices

The Independent presidential candidate is apparently contemplating NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers or possible Jesse Ventura, a former politician and retired professional wrestler, according to a spokesperson for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

RFK is reportedly considering Rodgers and former Minnesota governor Ventura for the running mate role, according to several stories that surfaced on Tuesday.

“I’m self-sufficient. Ventura previously declared, “I’m not a Dem or a Republican because I know they’re not the solution.”

Kennedy had said in an earlier interview that he planned to declare his vice presidential candidate within the next thirty days.

“Along with others on a short list, he’s considering Jesse Ventura and Aaron Rodgers as running partners,” a Kennedy campaign spokeswoman stated on Tuesday. “There are no further details at this time.”

Rodgers supported Kennedy, 70, last year after their friendship blossomed from their shared resistance to the COVID-19 mRNA vaccination. President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address elicited a remark from Kennedy that Rodgers reiterated on X (Twitter) on Tuesday afternoon: “This is presidential.”

The Democratic National Committee, however, disparaged Kennedy’s short list.

“No one asked for the reunion of the Three Stooges. Given that conspiracy theorists are selecting candidates, it should come as no surprise that this group made the short list, according to a statement from senior adviser for the Democratic National Committee Mary Beth Cahill.

Kennedy gave up on his Democratic presidential campaign last year and launched an independent one after failing to win over the Democratic base. He has said before that the modern Democratic Party is not the old one he remembered, which opposed war and had a healthy mistrust of both the federal government and the pharmaceutical industry.
