President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) suspects an illegal alien of raping a child in the sanctuary state of Massachusetts after releasing him into the country.
The 20-year-old Brazilian national and his parents first entered the country illegally in the vicinity of San Luis, Arizona, in July 2021. After receiving a Notice to Appear (NTA), the Brazilian national was freed on his own recognizance, along with his parents.
In August of 2023, authorities took the Brazilian national into custody for traffic infractions in Billerica, Massachusetts. They later dropped those charges.
Then, in December 2023, in Milford, Massachusetts, police issued a warrant for the arrest of the country of Brazil on charges of enticing a minor under 16 years old and child rape. The Brazilian national was taken into custody by Portland, Maine, police on January 10, and he was then brought back to Massachusetts to face the allegations of child rape.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials filed a detainer against the Brazilian national while he was in custody at Cumberland County Jail in Maine. When he was turned over to the authorities in Massachusetts, they also received him.
The Milford District Court imposed the Brazilian national’s $5,000 bail with GPS tracking after his arraignment on January 18. The Brazilian national was free to leave custody after the court refused to uphold the ICE detainee on January 25.
Agents from ICE discovered and detained the Brazilian national near his Lowell, Massachusetts, home late in March, almost two months later.
His expulsion from the United States is still ongoing, and he is still in federal custody.
