Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem isn’t playing games when it comes to border security, and she just shut down another mainstream media attempt to demonize President Trump’s lawful immigration policies. Appearing on Face The Nation, Noem blasted CBS host Margaret Brennan for trying to spin the administration’s crackdown on illegal immigration as something controversial, when in reality, Trump is just following the law—something Biden refused to do.
Brennan tried to corner Noem on the detention of illegal migrant families, a practice that has been in place for decades and is necessary to prevent child trafficking. But Noem wasn’t having it.
“I don’t know that we’re actually reviving it,” Noem said. “It’s that President Biden didn’t follow the law.” She went on to slam the Biden administration for ignoring federal immigration laws, which led to millions of illegal crossings and countless preventable crimes. Unlike Biden, Trump is actually enforcing immigration law, making it clear that if you break our laws, there will be consequences.
Noem also announced a major expansion of immigration enforcement, including Todd Lyons as acting ICE director and Madison Sheahan as deputy secretary. Both are tough, seasoned immigration enforcers, and their leadership will help ramp up the crackdown on illegal aliens and partner with local law enforcement to restore law and order.
“They have done incredible work cleaning up our communities and making them safer,” Noem said, promising that under Trump, America’s borders will be defended.
This is exactly what voters demanded in 2024—a return to strong leadership and real border security. Noem’s takedown of the media’s anti-Trump spin is just further proof that the America First agenda is back in full force.
