A man from Maryland was arrested after allegedly plotting to kill a top government official. This man, Colin Demarco, didn’t just talk about it—he took real steps toward trying to carry out the plan. He showed up at the official’s home wearing rubber gloves and a surgical mask, likely trying to hide his identity. He was also carrying a backpack and appeared to have a concealed weapon. Thankfully, a witness spotted him and alerted authorities before anything worse could happen.
Demarco was targeting Russell Vought, the Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Vought is a key figure in President Trump’s administration and is playing a major role in the effort to clean out the bloated federal government. His most important mission given to him by President Trump is to return power to the people by removing unelected bureaucrats who think they run this country. It’s no surprise that someone like Vought would become a target for extremists who hate the idea of draining the swamp.
Police say Demarco believed the 2024 election was some kind of turning point. In his own words, he feared a “fascist takeover” and thought war was on the horizon. These are the kinds of paranoid ideas being fed to viewers of leftist corporate media outlets (see: MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, ABC, Politico, Mother Jones, Washington Post, LA Times, NY Times, etc.) that still can’t get over the fact that voters preferred Donald Trump’s more conservative policies over Kamala Harris’ radically left ones–ie putting America First.

This wasn’t just talk. Demarco had digital records showing that he tried to hire someone to kill Vought. He searched for directions to the man’s house and had creepy files saved on his devices, including something called a “Body Disposal Guide.” He even had a manifesto he was working on and made statements about wanting to kill the President.
This situation should be a wake-up call. Political violence is real, and it’s not coming from the people who love this country. It’s coming from those who are terrified of losing control. For eight years, the radical left had their hands on the wheel, and they drove this country straight into a ditch. Now that they’re out of power, they’re angry, and some are willing to turn to violence.
We’ve spent our lives defending this nation from threats both foreign and domestic. This one came from within, and it’s clear: we need to take these threats seriously. Law enforcement did the right thing by acting swiftly, but we also need to start asking deeper questions. What kind of media and messaging led this man to think that killing a public servant was the answer? What kind of echo chamber fuels that kind of hatred?

It’s also a reminder of why our Second Amendment rights are so important. If this had escalated further, it’s not hard to imagine how things could have turned out. Americans have the right to defend themselves, their families, and their communities. When threats like this are allowed to fester, that right becomes even more vital.
Colin Demarco is now facing some serious charges, including attempted murder, criminal solicitation to commit murder, carrying a concealed weapon, and wearing a mask to hide his identity. Justice is being served, but this is bigger than just one man. It’s about a growing sickness in part of our society—a rejection of law, order, and even basic decency—all in the name of resisting an administration that was fairly elected by the American people.
We’ve got to stay alert. The fight to restore this country isn’t just about elections or policies. It’s about standing up to those who would rather burn everything down than see America prosper under strong, constitutional leadership. Stay ready, stay informed, and never forget what we’re fighting for.
