Thanks to the vigilance of the FBI under the leadership of Director Kash Patel and the strength of President Trump’s restored national security apparatus, a horrific ISIS-inspired terror plot has been stopped dead in its tracks in Dearborn, Michigan. But the details of this thwarted attack are a chilling reminder that evil doesn’t sleep, and that our enemies—foreign and domestic—are still plotting to kill Americans on our own soil.
Five suspects, including two 20-year-olds and three minors, were arrested in Dearborn, America’s largest Muslim-majority city. According to Attorney General Pam Bondi, the group was planning a Halloween attack on LGBTQ+ nightclubs in nearby Ferndale. The weapons cache alone tells you exactly how serious this was: three AR-15–style rifles, two shotguns, four handguns, more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition, tactical vests, GoPro cameras, and a slew of accessories designed for a high-casualty ambush.
This wasn’t just some online fantasy. These individuals, radicalized by ISIS propaganda, trained with these weapons at gun ranges, scouted locations, and communicated through encrypted apps about their desire to carry out jihad on American soil. The criminal complaint makes it crystal clear: this wasn’t speculation. This was preparation.
One of the suspects, Mohmed Ismail Ali, reportedly told his co-conspirator that this was the closest he had ever come to committing to “jihad,” which he referred to as his “ticket to paradise.” This is not a misunderstanding of Islam. This is a deliberate commitment to a violent ideology that has repeatedly targeted civilians in the West. And this time, the targets were LGBTQ+ Americans enjoying a night out in their own community.
Let’s get real about what this means. These weren’t foreign actors sneaking across the border or stowing away on cargo ships. These were young men, raised or radicalized right here in the United States, communicating in our cities, stockpiling weapons, and planning mass murder—all under the nose of our own communities. Where was the alert from local leaders? Where was the so-called “moderate” Muslim community condemning this behavior before it escalated? Silence.
And where, exactly, is the left on this? You won’t hear a peep from the usual media outlets. Why? Because it doesn’t fit their narrative. They’re too busy fearmongering about Christian nationalists and obsessing over pronouns to cover a real, credible threat to American lives. If the suspects had been wearing MAGA hats, CNN would have run wall-to-wall coverage. But since they were ISIS sympathizers targeting a vulnerable community, the story gets buried.
This is the direct result of the left’s dangerous obsession with political correctness. Under the Biden administration, we saw open borders, weakened intelligence-gathering capabilities, and a retreat from the aggressive anti-terror strategies that kept us safe under President Trump. Thank God that era is over. President Trump and his revitalized DOJ aren’t playing games with America’s security.

Let this be a wake-up call. ISIS is still out there. Radical Islam is not defeated. And the ideology that fuels it continues to find fertile ground among disaffected youth—especially when our institutions are too afraid to call it what it is.
