In response to the National Association for the Advancements of Colored People (NAACP) posting a travel advisory for the state, twice-defeated presidential contender Hillary Clinton asserts that Florida “is not safe” for black or LGBT people.
According to Clinton, “Ron DeSantis’s ultra-MAGA Florida is not safe for persons of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, or even for multi-billion dollar corporations,” and she included screenshots of headlines describing the travel warning and Gov. Ron DeSantis’ continuing spat with Disney.
Indeed, over the weekend, the far-left NAACP issued a travel warning, advising black people to stay away from Florida because of the governor’s “aggressive efforts to wipe out Black history as well as to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in Florida classrooms.”
“African Americans, persons of color, and LGBTQ+ people face open hostility in Florida. The state of Florida undervalues and marginalizes the contributions made by African Americans along with other communities of color as well as the difficulties they experience,” the report states.
Recent anti-groomer legislation enacted by DeSantis aims to shield kids from the radical woke transgender agenda that the far-left is relentlessly pushing.
For instance, DeSantis’ S.B. 254 effectively outlaws the mutilation of minors by “surgical procedures as well as experimental puberty inhibitors.” Other steps, which include creating sex-specific restrooms and changing areas in public buildings and other places, like jails and prisons, safeguard women. Another policy prevents youngsters from seeing sexually explicit adult performances like drag shows by fining venues that do so.
Additionally, DeSantis just approved Senate Bill 266 which bans Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs in higher education.
Leon W. Russell, the head of the NAACP board of directors, ironically resides in Florida.
League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), which is a Hispanic “civil rights” organization, also issued a travel warning for the state this past week, noting the laws DeSantis passed to shield Floridians from the unfavorable impacts of illegal immigration. By enacting Senate Bill 1718, for example, Florida effectively became the first state in the US to fully utilize E-Verify for employment. But the group said that this measure “exposes the significant impact of Governor DeSantis’ broad anti-immigrant, anti-Christian families rampage, damaging the Florida economy while further excluding immigrant communities.”
