Gun Laws Stop Attack, Media Ignores Radical Agenda

If you’re still wondering whether “common sense” gun laws exist in America, here’s your proof: they do—and they work. But you won’t hear that from the gun-grabbing left. They’re too busy trying to exploit every tragedy to push their radical disarmament agenda. Meanwhile, a clear case out of Boulder, Colorado, just exposed the truth: our existing gun laws may have stopped an illegal immigrant’s terrorist attack from becoming a full-blown massacre.

Here’s what happened. Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian national who illegally overstayed his tourist visa in 2022, launched a brutal hate-fueled assault on a group of Jewish Americans advocating for hostages held by Hamas. Armed with Molotov cocktails and a homemade flamethrower, Soliman injured at least a dozen people while screaming “Free Palestine” and expressing his desire to “kill all Zionist people.” His actions were heinous, premeditated, and rooted in radical Islamist ideology.

But here’s the crucial detail the legacy media is conveniently downplaying: Soliman tried to buy a gun. He even took a concealed carry class. But because he was a non-citizen, federal law blocked the sale. That’s right—existing gun laws stopped him from legally obtaining a firearm. So instead, he cobbled together improvised weapons and carried out his attack with firebombs. It’s a terrifying reality, but the fact remains: if he’d had access to a gun, the outcome could have been far worse.

This is what the left doesn’t want you to understand. We already have plenty of “common sense” restrictions on firearms—background checks, citizenship requirements, age limits, and more. Joe Biden’s open-border chaos may have let Soliman in, given him a work permit, and turned a blind eye to his radical posts online. But it was our gun laws—yes, the same ones the left claims are toothless—that helped prevent a massacre.

Let’s not forget, Soliman wasn’t some lost soul. He was a calculated extremist. According to reports, he spent a year planning the attack. He left goodbye messages for his family. He scoped out the gathering, learned how to build Molotov cocktails from YouTube, and chose his moment. And yet, despite the red flags, despite the inflammatory social media posts praising the Muslim Brotherhood, the Biden-era immigration system did nothing to stop him. They didn’t deport him. They gave him a work permit. They enabled him.

This is the real issue—not law-abiding American citizens exercising their Second Amendment rights, but an immigration system under Democrats that’s been so thoroughly corrupted and weaponized, it puts Americans in danger. President Trump is working to clean up the wreckage left behind, but the damage from years of open-border negligence is still rippling through our communities. This case is just the latest example.

Now let’s get real: had one of those Jewish demonstrators in Boulder been legally armed, this story might’ve ended very differently. Instead of 12 injured, we might have had a would-be terrorist taken down before he could light the first fuse. The Second Amendment isn’t just a political talking point—it’s a shield for the innocent. And it’s time more Americans exercised that right.

Just as important is the need to enforce the laws we already have. The left constantly demands new restrictions, new bans, new federal overreach. But what good are new laws if our government refuses to enforce existing ones? Soliman should’ve never been in the country in the first place. He should’ve been deported. Instead, he was given a pass by Biden’s DHS and nearly carried out a mass killing. That’s not a gun control failure—that’s a leadership failure.

The bottom line is this: the system worked where it was allowed to work. Soliman didn’t get a gun. But the system failed where it was sabotaged—by weak immigration enforcement, clueless bureaucrats, and a leftist culture that treats every red flag like a political inconvenience. President Trump is right to demand tougher borders, stronger vetting, and full enforcement of the law. That’s how you keep Americans safe.

So next time a Democrat says we need “common sense” gun laws, remind them—we already have them. What we need now is common sense leadership.
