Elon Musk Responds in Trump Feud, Throws Weight Behind Ron DeSantis

Donald Trump recently spoke out against Elon Musk and his botched Twitter deal. Trump called the billionaire a “bulls*** artist” and reminded everyone he had predicted the deal would fall through. Trump also criticized Musk’s claim that he is now a Republican, saying the businessman told him that he voted for him in 2016.

There seems to be no love lost between these two iconic figures. Although Elon is now a self-professed Republican, he refuses to support Trump—the favorite for the GOP nomination. He had previously expressed support for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. And now, he is doubling down.

Elon Musk dismissed the notion of former President Donald Trump running for office again in 2024 with Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) as his running mate, saying that Trump was too old and that DeSantis would wipe the floor with Democrat President Joe Biden in an election…

“I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset,” Musk tweeted. “Dems should also call off the attack – don’t make it so that Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the Presidency.” […]

“Trump would be 82 at end of term, which is too old to be chief executive of anything, let alone the United States of America.”

“If DeSantis runs against Biden in 2024, then DeSantis will easily win – he doesn’t even need to campaign,” Musk continued. [Source: Daily Wire]

Despite the fact that Trump continues to be a dominant force with the Republican Party, Musk said he needs to “sail into the sunset.” He claims Trump would be too old to be president pointing out that he would be 82 by the end of his second term.

Instead, Musk once again voiced his support for Ron DeSantis, who is running for re-election as Florida governor this year.

DeSantis, according to GOP straw polls, is the second favorite among Republicans. But he has not stated publicly a desire to run for president in two years.

Musk seems to think that DeSantis would easily beat Biden if old Joe were to run again. He is so confident DeSantis would win he claims he “doesn’t even need to campaign.”

Is this what Musk really believes? Or is he just trying shots at Trump, who just mocked him?

Isn’t it nice when the super-rich banter with words over the fate of our nation? Musk can easily dismiss a second Trump presidency because he will in no way be hurt if he loses. Or if another Democrat is elected who further drives Americans into depression.

But Trump’s record is very clear. His America-first policies helped our economy surge, making us the envy of the world once again. Biden has reversed all those gains, putting the average American in dire straits.

Trump has yet to announce a campaign. But if he does, I doubt Musk’s disapproval will do anything to affect it.
