It’s well-known that the economic crises hammering the U.S. today are entirely the Democrats’ fault. America was doing very well under Trump and a Republican majority. Even in 2020, during the COVID panic, we were experiencing a “V-shaped” recovery after lockdowns. But all that evaporated when Biden took office. He implemented policies that wrecked numerous industries and triggered endless crises.
Democrats in Congress did nothing to stop him. They ignored the idiotic and radical decisions the Biden administration made. They were hell-bent on voting for a toxic spending bill that would have caused even more problems. All this has amounted to a bleak midterm election cycle for them, where most people believe Republicans will retake Congress.
A few Senate Democrats are scrambling to do something to patch up their reputations. So, they are introducing a bill that will do little to help.
Democratic Arizona Senator Mark Kelly and New Hampshire Senator Maggie Hassan introduced the “Gas Prices Relief Act” Wednesday. The bill would suspend the 18.4 cents per gallon federal gas tax for the rest of the year. The bill is co-sponsored by Democratic Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow, Nevada Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jackie Rosen, and Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock…
“Arizonans are paying some of the highest prices for gas we have seen in years and it’s putting a strain on families who need to fill up the tank to get to work and school,” said Kelly, who lamented last month that inflation is “really hurting Arizona families and families across the country,” but put the blame on large corporations rather than federal government fiscal and monetary policies. Once again Democrats prove they care more about winning elections than helping Americans. This bill sounds like a good idea, but it doesn’t actually address the reason gas prices are so high. Plus it expires at the end of the year, conveniently after the midterm elections. So, they only want to pass it to make themselves look good, hoping to bamboozle voters just long enough until the elections are over.
If these Democrats really wanted to lower gas prices, they’d pass a bill override Biden’s idiotic policies. Biden crippled our energy production when he banned drilling on federal land. That shut down drilling in most states and triggered the rise in costs. He also shut down the Keystone XL pipeline and implemented other “green” policies that hampered progress.
Why aren’t Democrats addressing all of those foolish decisions? Why aren’t they pushing for a bill that would encourage American energy companies to produce more oil? If they were really interested in reducing the “strain” on families, then they would be doing more than temporarily ending a gas tax.
But we know better. These liberals aren’t interested in helping families, just polishing their tarnished images. The moment they think they are politically safe, they will go back to treating Americans like dogs.
