According to reports, Thomas Matthew Crooks’ parents have hired lawyers because of the probe into the failed attempt to kill former President Donald Trump.
The Daily Mail said the Crooks have hired a group of lawyers while the FBI investigates what they knew before the shooting in Pennsylvania on July 13.
The news source said:
“This comes after a family member told DailyMail.com that the FBI “still very much has questions” about how much the killer’s parents knew. The family member also said that the killer’s 53-year-old father, Matthew Crooks, is a gun fanatic who has sold guns to family members in the past.”
“The fact that the parents chose this particular law firm shows that they are likely to face both criminal charges and civil suits from the families of their son’s other victims. Matthew Crooks and his wife Mary, 53, have hired the Pittsburgh-based law firm Quinn Logue. They say they are trial lawyers who specialize in both criminal defense and civil suits, such as those for personal injury and wrongful death.”
During the shooting, Trump was talking to the crowd when a bullet went through his ear, leaving blood on his face. For several days after the shooting, a former sniper told Breitbart News that he had “no doubts” that Thomas Matthew Crooks had help from “an agency, a group, or the government.”
The news source said the sniper they spoke to was on a team that had previously held the record for the longest certified kill.
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA) said in an investigation report that Crooks’ gun was shot and hit by a Butler SWAT officer “from the ground” before the shooter was killed by a U.S. Secret Service sniper at the protest.
Breitbart News reported on August 3 that after the shooting, Trump thanked God for keeping him alive while speaking at a gathering in Atlanta, Georgia.
Then he said, “The first one was not a good situation, not a good situation. That really was amazing. That came from God. That came from God. That was God’s will. For those of you who don’t believe, that one came from God, right?”
