Big Surprise–New Johns Hopkin Study Proves Dem Lockdowns Do More Harm Than Good

Long, long ago, Republican governors announced their states were coming out of lockdown. Some governors, like Ron DeSantis of Florida and Greg Abbott of Texas, did so very quickly. Texas came out of lockdown after a month; Florida even quicker. Some states, like Noem’s South Dakota, never went into lockdown. Not so, with blue states. In fact, Democrats scolded Republicans for “jeopardizing” their people by refusing to keep them forced in their homes.

Democrats, on the other hand, pushed lockdowns far longer than anyone thought necessary. Stores were shuttered. Church-going was banned. And schools were locked up. Any idiot could tell you it was a suicidal policy. But it was all for “slowing the spread” of COVID, right? So, it was worth it?

Guess what? A new study from Johns Hopkins University is proving what we all have been saying since March 2020.

A Johns Hopkins University literature review and meta-analysis of the effects of lockdowns on mortality stemming from the Chinese coronavirus found that “lockdowns have had little to no public health effects,” and have “imposed enormous economic and social costs where they have been adopted.” […]

“In consequence, lockdown policies are ill-founded and should be rejected as a pandemic policy instrument,” they added…

The review also noted that studies looking at specific NPIs, such as “lockdown vs. no lockdown, facemasks, closing non-essential businesses, border closures, school closures, and limiting gatherings,” also found “no broad-based evidence of noticeable effects on COVID-19 mortality.” [Source: Breitbart]

Gee, how has been saying this all along? Oh, ALL OF US. We’ve all been saying this for two years. The study looked for “empirical” data to suggest strict government interventions did anything to reduce the mortality of COVID-19. They found nothing. Instead, they revealed that lockdowns created “enormous” costs on our economy and society.

What’s even more damning is the fact that all pandemic literature published in 2019 and back also say lockdowns don’t work. Most state that normal life should be interrupted as little as possible when a pandemic hits. Yet all of that knowledge was thrown out the window in 2020. And the results have been felt ever since. Lives were upended. Once-in-a-lifetime plans were ruined. Educations were derailed.

And the toll on our children could be incalculable.

The real question is, why? Why did our government so quickly embrace this outdated, medieval approach to fighting the disease, when the literature urged otherwise? The experts all knew lockdowns didn’t work. Why push a plan that would do nothing to help, but devastate our country (and many others overseas)?

You know why. It’s because they wanted COVID to do as much damage to our country as possible, right before the election. It’s because Democrats wanted Americans terrified of this flu, so they could justify mail-in ballots. It’s so the media could blame all of this on Trump, even though they were the ones ignoring back in January and February.

The sad reality is, if another pandemic occurs, they’d do it all over again.
