Biden Called Out for Discrimination in Promising SCOTUS Replacement

It’s hard not to believe Stephen Breyer’s retirement from the Supreme Court was timed deliberately. Joe Biden’s reputation is in the crapper. His disapproval far outweighs his approval. His legislative agenda failed. And he’s ignoring countless crises that continue to harm the American public.

Democrats were pressuring Breyer to retire for a while now, ever since Ruth Bader Ginsberg died. But for his retirement to “leak” after one of Biden’s worst weeks in office is no coincidence. Biden’s team wanted a distraction from a possible war in Europe, one that is old Joe’s fault.

Quickly Biden tried to butter up his base. I guess Biden thinks ever worse of black Americans than we thought. Because he seemed to think that, after ignoring their problems for 12 months, announcing a black female Supreme Court justice was going to win them over. It is not.

President Joe Biden faced backlash on Thursday after he announced that he would replace retiring Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer with someone in-part based on their race and their sex…

Ben Shapiro, The Daily Wire: “Joe Biden will nominate a black woman for the Supreme Court because he said he would select someone based on race and sex, and then we will be told that noting that this is definitionally affirmative action and race discrimination is itself racist.”

Noah Pollak: “Announcing you are excluding all but one race and sex from consideration for a job opening is completely illegal and unconstitutional in every other context.”

Caleb Hull, digital strategist: “He’s already using ‘they’ pronouns to describe the person… What a disaster this is about to be.” [Source: Daily Wire]

Biden’s handlers timed this announcement to help salvage the Democrats’ doomed chances in November’s midterms. They are hoping against all odds that picking a black woman to replace Stephen Breyers will impress their liberal base. And they are counting on Republicans’ opposition to whomever they pick to be twisted as racist and sexist.

But that still won’t be enough to save Biden’s failed presidency and Democrats’ chances in Congress. Black people might think it’s nice that a black woman will become a SCOTUS judge, but that won’t erase the rising inflation that’s making it hard for them to put food on their tables. Is this justice going to lower gas prices? How about closing the border to prevent more illegal aliens from stealing American jobs?

Probably not. Biden’s administration is banking on the idea that race and gender will be enough to paper over what has been an epically terrible first year. Biden’s lost 20 points of support from the black community. That’s unheard of for a Democrat president. Sure, some of them might be won back with this stunt.

But it isn’t going to reverse an entire year of failure, broken promises, and an utter lack of leadership.

Worse still, the nomination process could drag out for months, as Republicans demand a tough examination of this person. That will only ensure Biden’s legislative agenda will be halted even more.
