Five. That's the number of conservative guests who appeared on The View during its entire Season 29 run, from September 8, 2025 through July 24, 2026. Five guests out of 321 total. The liberal side? Eighty-seven.
That's a 17-to-1 ratio.
The breakdown is even worse than the top line suggests. Of those 87 liberal guests, 16 were Democratic politicians — including Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Cory Booker, Senator John Fetterman, Governor Josh Shapiro, Governor Andy Beshear, former Vice President Kamala Harris, and former First Lady Jill Biden. Two liberal Supreme Court justices — Sonia Sotomayor and Ketanji Brown Jackson — got the couch treatment. Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stopped by. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared twice.
The conservative side? Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, who accounted for three of the five appearances all by herself, and has since left the party. Vice President J.D. Vance. Trump attorney Alina Habba. Actress Cheryl Hines, who's married to HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. And Spencer Pratt, the reality TV star running for mayor of Los Angeles.
That's the full list. Five names. Three of them aren't even politicians. And Cheryl Hines likely isn't even a Republican.
Media Research Center President David Bozell put it plainly: "The View's 87-5 guest ratio proves the show is not diverse at all. It's a Democrat Socialist Party infomercial."
Joy Behar has claimed Republicans won't come on because "they're afraid of us." The cast said on their podcast that most conservatives don't meet a "certain caliber of guest" standard. Which is an interesting bar to set when your guest list includes comedian Kathy Griffin and Don Lemon.
When co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin went on maternity leave, production brought in guest co-hosts including Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Savannah Chrisley. They also brought on comedian Whitney Cummings, who called herself a "life long progressive" and floated the theory that Trump was sending child soldiers to Iran. That apparently met the caliber standard.
The Daily Wire's Isabel Brown was actively rejected for an appearance. So it's not that conservatives aren't willing. It's that the show doesn't want the kind who might actually push back. Farah Griffin herself reportedly admitted as much — they didn't want guests who would embarrass them on their own set.
The last Republican politician to appear before Marjorie Taylor Greene's run was New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, back in August 2024. That's nearly a full year without a single GOP officeholder on a show that airs on ABC five days a week, fifty weeks a year.
