Four members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua just pleaded guilty to murdering two people in the Bronx. Not arrested. Not charged. Pleaded guilty. They admitted it in a federal courtroom. But sure, tell us again how TdA was just a "right-wing talking point."
Remember when every liberal media outlet in America told you Trump was fearmongering about violent Venezuelan gangs? Four of them just confessed to killing two Americans in cold blood. Weird how those talking points keep turning into guilty pleas.
The Justice Department announced on June 3 that Keiber Jaen Martinez, known as "Keybe," Samuel Gonzalez Castro, known as "Klei," Eferson Morillo-Gomez, known as "Jefferson" or "Efe Trebol," and Keineyer Ibarra-Mujica, known as "Keiner," all pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Denise L. Cote in the Southern District of New York, as reported by 100 Percent Fed Up. A fifth member, Jarwin Valero-Calderon, known as "La Fama," also pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy and a gunpoint carjacking from September 30, 2024.
The victims were Claretha LaQuesha Daniels, 44, and Justin Lawless, 36. They were gunned down on May 24, 2024 — Memorial Day weekend, two years ago almost to the day. Two Americans murdered by gang members who should never have been in this country in the first place.
The charges tell you everything you need to know: two counts of murder through firearm use and one count of using a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. These aren't petty offenders who got mixed up in the wrong crowd. These are cartel-connected killers operating on American soil because the border was left wide open.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche didn't sugarcoat it. "Tren de Aragua is a terrorist organization with no place and no future in the United States," Blanche said. DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin was even more direct: "They rape, maim, and murder for sport." For sport. Let that sink in while the Left still pretends the border crisis was manufactured.
U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton of the Southern District of New York said, "We extend our deep condolences to the family members of these victims." Condolences are appropriate. But condolences don't bring back two people who'd still be alive if the border had been secured.
These guilty pleas are part of a much larger crackdown. Jacob Warren, Director of Joint Task Force Vulcan, has overseen the charging of more than 260 members of MS-13 and Tren de Aragua. Eight in-custody defendants have been charged in this case alone. The Trump administration is doing what the previous one refused to — treating these gangs like the terrorist organizations they are.
Two years ago, Claretha Daniels and Justin Lawless were alive. Then four Venezuelan gang members with cartel backing decided otherwise. Now those four are heading to prison, and the administration that warned you about exactly this is the one cleaning it up.
Still think TdA is a talking point? Tell that to two families in the Bronx.
