Another State Rebels: Signs Constitutional Carry Into Law

With Joe Biden in the White House, Democrats in D.C. are practically salivating to rob us of our rights. Biden has demanded Congress pass sweeping gun control reform, which would radically undermine our 2nd Amendment freedoms. It’s clear Joe wants to deprive Americans of their access to firearms and their ability to use them when needed.

While Congress might struggle to pass a bill, conservative states are not waiting. We’ve reported in recent months how numerous states have enacted new policies that shield their residents from D.C.’s anti-2nd Amendment agenda. Some states even want to become “Second Amendment sanctuaries” where federal gun laws don’t hold any power.

Texas has been leading the charge in securing gun ownership rights for its citizens. They had previously passed laws that diminish D.C.’s influence over the state. And, despite opposition from bitter TX Democrats, the governor just signed a major bill into law.

Gov. Greg Abbott (R) signed HB 1927 into law Wednesday, making Texas the 21st constitutional carry state in the union.

The Texas Tribune reported the constitutional carry law will go into effect September 1, 2021, allowing law-abiding residents 21-years-old and older to carry a handgun for self-defense, without first getting a permit from the government…

On April 28, 2021, Breitbart News reported Abbott’s pledge to sign constitutional carry if it reached his desk.

The Tribune notes that the Texas House passed HB 1927 on March 21, 2021, and the Texas Senate passed it on March 22.

Starting September 1, Texas will officially be a “Constitutional carry” state. What does that mean? It means that anyone over the age of 21 can carry a handgun for self-defense without getting a permit from the government. A Texas resident will be allowed to conceal carry a handgun—ensuring they and their families are safe.

Democrats raged over the passage of this bill. One called the governor “cowardly” for passing a bill that grants Texas residents their rights back. Democrats push the lie that if you give law-abiding citizens more freedom, crime will rise.

We all know the truth. Criminals don’t obey gun control laws. They will “carry” guns anywhere they want, intent on causing harm. States that have very strict gun control (like New York, Illinois, and California) often see the worst violence.

But, shockingly, states, counties, and towns that have very little gun control see very few acts of violence.

It’s almost as if, criminals don’t want law-abiding citizens shooting back!

Texas has become the 21st state to allow Constitutional carry. The others are obviously conservative states, with a few notable exceptions. It’s very possible, with this big news, more states will follow Texas’s example.
