Let’s just say, you get what you vote for!
Residents of Jackson, Mississippi no longer have readily availably potable drinking water after being run by Democrat politicians for the past seven decades.
Jackson has been a Democrat stronghold for over 70 years and residents are finally understanding the damage liberal policies can cause to a bustling city. Meanwhile, as you could’ve probably guessed, leaders in Jackson refuse to take any blame for the lack of water and instead cite “systematic racism” as the reason why Jackson has dried up.
Side note: Not only have Democrats ruled Jackson since 1949 but every mayor since 1989 has been a black man. Nearly 80% of the population in the southern capital is African American as well.
Since 1990, after 40 years of Democrat rule, the city’s population has collapsed from 202,000 to just 153,000. Yes, a quarter of the population has fled. Between 2010 and 2020 alone, the population dropped 11.4 percent.
Jackson has been run exclusively by Democrats for generations, run by black mayors for 33 years, and according to the media, Jackson’s years-long water problems are an American failure of systemic racism.
Jackson’s water issues have been ongoing for years and not a single Democrat official has done anything about it. Nearly 25% of Jackson residents live in poverty, a stastic that highlights the effects of decades of liberal rule. But poverty doesn’t explain why residents aren’t provided with potable drinking water.
The city’s water treatment plant is in such bad shape, and the water is so dirty; the system that creates water pressure is so broken that the Democrat-run city government must distribute bottled water to residents.
To make matters much, much worse, this is who’s in charge of Jackson’s water supply:

According to Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, Jackson’s main water treatment center totally broke down earlier this week. As a result, the National Guard was called help to help distribute bottles of water to Jackson Residents.
Residents young and old were waiting in long lines in sweltering heat to receive their water rations — a sight truly out of time for 2022. People were eventually turned away after a two-hour wait once 700 cases of water bottles ran out.
Perhaps the people of Jackson should consider electing a Republican mayor?
Mayor Cokwe Anta Lumumba (seriously?) was elected as Mayor of Jackson four years ago. Since then, the city has been plagued with the horrific side effects of his radical progressive policies. Mayor Lumumba has called for a universal basic income and “black-friendly” alternatives to policing. He framed his left-wing promises in inflammatory, racially-charged terms, which seemed to unite the mostly-black population of Jackson.
But the results speak for themselves and unfortunately for the people of Jackson, progressive policies never actually work out.
